Raw wool instead of flax tow

I don’t know much but I’m learning a tremendous amount hanging out on this fantastic site. One thing I know for certain. As FlinterNick said, people were not shooting like we do today. I bet we shoot more in one session than most people shot in a year, unless fighting a war.

    My new to me BlunderBeast

I bought this amazing 12 gauge beauty here recently. 60 grains of Goex 2F, a 13 gauge card (1/4” thick), same volume birdshot and another 13 gauge card produced the pictured 25 yard shot on my first try. I’m impressed and madly in love with this beast. I also shot some .60 cal round ball tucked...

    My First Black Powder Firearm!

I’d say keep the loads on the light side for accuracy, frugality and long life and you’ll enjoy her for years.

    Caps at Regional (yet again)

I don’t want to tell you what I just paid at the Allentown PA show. These things never happen to me so I’m tickled.

Scored CCI #10 and more at Allentown Gun Show

A vendor had a large quantity of #10 CCI caps as well as #11 mag caps. I grabbed a decent amount of #10 leaving ALOT more to others. These will keep my Pedersol 12 gauge double and Howdah going for a long time. Also a brand new Lee .60 RB double cavity mold with handles for $15.00 and a heavy...

    Hazard Compressed Powder Cartridges

Interesting! I’m convinced my paper combustibles are better than loose for me, but these could be worth a try.

    My First Black Powder Firearm!

Just my preference; I love how that brass looks as is. Too shiny makes it look “off “ somehow. That gun looks like it’s been there and done that and that’s a good thing.

    English blunderbuss rifle

What an interesting piece. Brass funnel fitted to steel barrel is unique to me. Also, is that a hammer block safety that folds into place over the nipple?

    Hello From Barcelona - Catalonia

No need to explain why you want Independence. I feel the same way in the USA. 😃

    Dusting off my Hawken

Howdy. I’m just north of Morristown. We used to see rattlers in Ramapo Reservation on one hillside near the pond with signs everywhere warning of their presence. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a copperhead and hope I never do. If you need anything let me know. Happy to help. PS You probably know...

    Hello From Barcelona - Catalonia

Welcome! Sounds like you have a wonderful life over there in beautiful Spain. It’s on my bucket list to visit some day. That Lone Star band sounds really good! FYI, you are obligated to share pics of your muzzleloading weapons and related paraphernalia. 😃

    Copy of an original blunderbuss

Amazing skills. Amazing project. I am so unbelievably envious of people with the right tools and the skills to use them properly. I cannot wait for this to continue!
