Ain't that somethin ?! A complete surprise to me too ! A neat thing ...ive always noticed marks on the back side of my repros ... Kinda looked like Roman numerals but I never thought much about it ...on the original there are Roman numerals too ! Not the same number , obviously , but it was to keep the side plate to the right gun during the building process , they didnt build one at a time . Neat stuff !!

Yes, that was a common practice to keep the right parts with the right gun. Even the arsenals used the same system (later they used regular numbers and symbols).
