Which is historically correct, precut patches or cut at muzzle?

This is important. Ml is a sport of slow. I swab between shots, who cares how long it takes. Ten or fifteen shots in an afternoon at the range is fine with me

    Mowrey rifle Fourstock attachment?

You might call it a forestock as in the Allen and Thurber design there were two stocks, the butt that fitted in to the box lock, and a second one. Mowrey made these in brass and wood.

    Shipping to New York

I bought a Loyaist arms gun last year. Canada is finicky on shipping arms. So I got two boxes. A gun in one, unfireable in that safe, as the lock came in a different box

    .375 prb's out of a .40?

Buy a box and try it You can’t go wrong. A .390 might work better but might not. A hunting gun might do very well, but not the most accurate at the range. A squirrel head is about the size of a nine ring, and you can get a forty five scour all day long. You might not get a fifty five x, but...

Anyone else's gun like a very tight load ?

How many shots between cleanings depends on much on surrounding conditions and loads. I live in the Ozarks, moved here from the west. In New Mexico where I grew up I could easily get ten shots. Very low humidity there. Suddenly in the humid Ozarks three of four shots was too many. Lube makes a...

    Matchlock Rifle?

The oldest know rifles were built on wheelocks, cr 1520. Long range bench fired matchlocks are known from before 1600 with built in foots, and peep sights, could be some of these were rifled. And matches were held at three hundred yards

    Suggestions for bag flap closure?

A flat cut off antler button seems to be a twentieth century thing. An antler toggle would be more authentic for the time and a loose toggle would fit in easier Do you have space below the flap, a tie might work well

    Barrel ribs and half stocks

Half stocks started about 1790 on English rifles. The 1803 HF was an early example of this. A rib was needed to hold the ram rod pipes. Although we see some guns to be converted to half stocks with pipes soldered or brazed to the barrel Ribs were mostly iron, but New England guns were made with...

    Which Pouch n’ Horn?

We know of lots of beautiful skimshawned horns from that time, my gut feeling is most had plain. Horn making was a profession like riflesmith and people loved art when they could get it A simple horn and small D shaped bag would probably be average
