What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Yesterday I dug out my old Dixie Cub flintlock.40 caliber, due to parents going downhill fast 6 or 7 years ago and taking care of them best I could to keep them home, all my Muzzle loader longarms got put on mothballs, sadly the cub had a bad rusty spot in barrel I worked it over pretty good but...

    Oils?

I'm sure I'm not only one on here that remembers when food didn't have expiration dates? I believe it started in early 70's ? It was a government mandate to put date on food, before that I guess enough folks had good horse sense. If it stinks, don't look or taste right it goes to dogs, hogs or...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I was doing a little organizing and ran across 40 paper cartridges I made around 3 years ago, they had been dipped in a melted beeswax tallow mix I had actually planned to stash them for a year to see if they'd still work, I ran 2 cylinders through my 1861 navy, and they worked like i made them...

How do I use my sights?

Adjust rear sight the direction you want to move ball. Adjust front sight opposite direction you want ball to move. Sounds like rear sight is adjustable so if rear sight maxed out to raise ball impact then you can file down front sight to raise ball. Some guys set bulls eye on top...

SOLD REDUCED Scarce Flintlock Pedersoli Cub in .40

Yes they came as a kit,I bought one as a kit in early 90's I love that little gun it was about all I shot for 20 years, squirrel and deer hunting it shoots very good from 20 grains -60 grains with a patched .395 ball.

    CVA Pennsylvania Flintlock

Been A few years I guess my memory of price was higher then it actually was, either way they was out of my reach back then while raising 3 kids. I think it was probably mid to late 90's when I picked up mine.

    CVA Pennsylvania Flintlock

I shoot 65 grains 2F and .490 ball in mine,it shoots pretty good I've only shot 1 deer with it and a handfull of squirrels its still in next to new condition, a few scratches on buttplate and stock by buttplate from loading in timber is only blemishes.

    CVA Pennsylvania Flintlock

I honestly have no clue the value now,I'd guess there was very few sold considering they are CVA and they was priced with much higher end guns,I'd assume they used regular CVA locks and triggers but I dont know,I suppose its possible they had upgraded parts mine has always worked good but it...

    CVA Pennsylvania Flintlock

I believe in the 90's they was priced in $800.00 range new,and I dont believe they was ever offered as a kit. Mine is only one I have ever seen in person,I imagine the high price kept most folks away from purchasing one,I know I sure didnt have that to spend back then.

    CVA Pennsylvania Flintlock

If this works it's my wife shooting mine, also very first shot she ever shot from flintlock.she shoots cap and ball revolvers a lot,but had never shot a flintlock.

    CVA Pennsylvania Flintlock

They was priced considerably higher than other CVA offerings,I picked mine up new unfired,I did a bunch of welding for a fella and rather then cash he opened up his huge walk in safe and said pick one, there was more expensive modern guns but the CVA Pennsylvania caught my eye ☺️

    My Kibler SMR Build Log

I'll play, pic goes fuzzy when I try to expand so I may be way off base, looks to me like a .32 S&W caliber made by H&R or NEF,it appears to me the ejecter rod is also cylinder release, hammer spur looks unrefined, grips look plastic I dont believe it looks as refined as a Colt or S&W but it may be...

    PSA.... Check your local Walmart.

I grabbed 4 tins of CCI 11s this morning at WM, probably a dozen or so left,to be honest I still have plenty left, but seriously doubt I ever see them again for under $6.00 if any still left in week or two I'll probably grab a few more,

I didn't know Johnson past wax had been discontinued, there's a little old school 5 and dime store in town that just might still have some left,I'll check next time I'm in town and hopefully pick up a can of two.I use it sometimes in bullet lube concoction for unmentionables.
