What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I finally got the bore scope down my new Pedersoli Percussion Trade Rifle. I tried to snag or knock off this piece of metal with a jag, but no go. Maybe I'll have access to it when I take the barrel off. I'm not familiar with percussion hooked breeches.

    SOLD Civil war gear lot

But gee @rusticbob ... You guys are friends. Or at the least family. Otherwise you wouldn't have shammed PP of their fees. Right?

    Why Kibler

Geez, Bob. You've been here since 2012. I was hoping you could tell me :) When I saw all the Kibler recommendations I azzumed it was like knife forums and knives... there was a flavor of the day and a changing of the guard every few years. Usually due to higher prices and long wait times. Which...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

LOL :D Ever since Everything Black Powder posted that video and someone mentioned it a week ago, it seems everyone here is using it now, lol. Never saw a mention of it before in my time here. Not even in lube specific threads. That's not saying I didn't pick up a small bottle of Dawn while I...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Thanks guys. Anything is worth a try to get the balls shooting the same. So far the only consistent shot has been the first one after a thorough cleaning. Then, even though it might be grouping well, the group will move. I even marked my sights to make sure they were not moving. Of course, when...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Once my packages arrive at the local FedEx center I am good to go. Aside from the drivers rotating and not being familiar with where to put the package. It took me a while to find an $800 check that had blown off my front deck and get caught up in the shrubs... I think they have since changed to...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

FedEx is certainly the worst. I did take my Hawken out again. I'm still not certain if my grouping problem might be the rear sight, as I shot my typical first shot: Followed by a couple low, a couple left... I didn't even hit the target on a couple of them. I think, just to try something...

    Traditions

I got my first (and only) Traditions a year ago. My reasoning was: It was a step up in caliber from the current ML rifle I was using, a custom It was carbine length, which will work much better for me in a spot I like to use for deer It was pretty with its dark stain and inlay, described as like...

    Pedersoli Kentucky .50 Thoughts ?

Beware the woman with one gun and knows how to use it :thumb:

    Touch Hole Picks!

A vent pick need only clear the touch hole from any crud that might interfere with igniting the main charge. It doesn't need to pick a patent breech anymore than picking a "normal" breech.

Ran a scotch brite through the bore of my TC Hawken towards the muzzle and towards the breech. The two areas it seemed to collect the most fouling in. I plan on giving it another go here shortly. I already filled the flask back up, as I was running low yesterday.

    Touch Hole Picks!

Now that's a bold maneuver there. Being on a highway and all. But back when gas got to $4.xx here a few years back, then dropped and went back up to present day, I encounter a lot of mower riders (or those geriatric scooters) going to the local small town store on the four-lane. They've even...

    Touch Hole Picks!

Yep. I'm old school. Blowing through the muzzle with a cupped hand was taught to me by the generation (or maybe two) before me... and I did stop for a while to appease the new internet masses... but have returned to my roots. It just plain works. You know, I probably have a gun muzzle or two...

    Touch Hole Picks!

I wasn't sure how brittle they were, because they look forged. I wouldn't want to make one too thin and have it snap with the slightest sideways pressure. If it was soft like a paperclip that wouldn't happen. Just didn't want to take the chance.
