    #10 vs #11 percussion caps

I use a file with it chucked in a drill press. It will work just go slow and don't take too much off.

    SOLD Irish Shot Snake

I was in a minute before you cut fingers. If the belt won't fit me I will back out. Just waiting for him to respond to my PM.

May need to pull breech plug.

Well that's an entirely different problem if true, but good point.
  5. Hatchet-Jack

    I did a bad thing.

Return it and get a Kibler Kit for about the same price. The woods runner can be snapped together on your kitchen table.

May need to pull breech plug.

You will never break it loose with two wrenches. Get yourself a good vise, two sheets of brass between the jaws and the barrel and break her loose like Rich described. It's not a difficult task. And to answer your question I would pull the plug and trim the liner down flush before I would drill...

    Maple finish

I use Jim Chambers gunstock Oil or Tried and True Oil Varnish. I've not played around with it but I have read from reliable sources on this forum that you can dilute iron nitrate with water or alcohol.

I posted pics on this thread in 2021of a Kibler I put together. If I recall I listed the bbl length incorrectly but couldn't edit the post. It should read 44". My Jim Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle is done/

Starting a Gun from Blank (how I do it)...Caution it's Long Story

I learned to use a grid like that in art school when I was learning portraiture. I'd be interested in your method of determining the scale for the life size grid? When I blew up the picture of the Albrecht I'm currently building I used the height of the butt plate, length of pull and length of...

    Broken kibler smr trigger guard

Your thinking is right. It should sit down flush. It's been a few years since I assembled a Kibler but if I recall I just took a little metal off that step under the bow to allow it to drop down.

    Cataract Surgury and Shooting

Hope everything works out so you can shoot and see close up when working on those nice horns you make. An OptiVisor or Opticaid clip on really helps me with detail work but that front sight is almost impossible for me to see these days. Keep us posted on how things go.

    Moravian inspired build

Making rivets, drilling and pinning the muzzle cap today. The rivet is made from a piece of electrical wire. A slight counter sink is done on the inside so the rivet sits flush but should also touch the barrel.

More progress shaping the stock today. Using scrapers to shape underneath the lock. I made several half hexagon blocks so I can clamp the forestock in the vise. With the little block in the barrel channel and a 3/8" piece of scrap hickory ramrod in the ramrod channel to avoid damage. This...
