    That is a heavy bullet and swiss is about 10-15 % more powerful than other powders, like Goex. Just FYI, my Minie balls for my .58 Enfield are 505 Grains. So you are shooting a pretty heavy load. With a patched round ball at 50yards my load would be 55 grains Goex. But if you are shooting a...

    New to these parts and in Chattanooga. I acquired a pile of guns and ammo, to include Uberti Santa Fe .54 cal from Lakeville, CT and several others.

    The Santa Fe is one of the better early production guns styled after an original Hawken. The Thompson is a great hunting gun, but not really styled like a Hawken. Either 1 will shoot round ball very well!
