    Traditional and accurate

If you are serious about range look at an English Target rifle like the Henry by Rod England. 45 cal shoots conicals to several hundred yards. This sort of thing

    Roe buck hunting in Hungary.

Yes. An awesome video. It would seem the more removed a population is from firearms the more magically overpowering a pistol grip (on anything) becomes and the more feeble anything else. I think the most in a modern English community would struggle with the real effect of the 577-450 at Rorkes...

    Amusing/Ridiculous Muzzleloading Misconceptions...

Not sure if I should add this but.... The other day at the Gunsmith a customer said there is no way he would use a muzzleloader because of all the time it took to reload. Now this guy is competitive shooter. I said I did not spend much time reloading. For a start I dont have to worry about case...

    bullet casting question

I think what you are asking is what causes the size to change. Baiscally a hot mold will increase bullet size but a hot melt will decrease bullet size. The rest is up to the mould's underlying size and the alloy.

    Clip on Wheel weights

I have used COWW for conicals. Tried Round ball but they are too difficult to load

1/4-28 thread #11 Nipple for Pedersoli Hawken

The Hot shot nipples have shaped venturi. Also the little holes ensure the cap splits so is easier to get off. Well That is my take on it anyway.

1/4-28 thread #11 Nipple for Pedersoli Hawken

I have a Pedersoli Pennsylvania. Everything you read says the Pennsylvania Has 1/4X28. I measured mine. It is 6mmX1mm. As far as freight is concerned. I also sell stuff on the internet and many countries Postal Services will only accept packages of a certain size. So if you but a single item or...

    This may sound stupid!

I probably should expand a little. While the front of the stock is pretty well fixed. As you sink the barrel and tang in, chances are you will set it back a little to ensure good contact. When you set the lock in you may choose to angle it and as such the distance between the sear and touch hole...

    This may sound stupid!

Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. Watch Bill Raby's videos. They taught me a lot. https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/building-a-4-bore-rifle.133297/ Basically draw the gun on the wood so you know where things will sit approximately. Set in the barrel and tang which...

Ahh Ok Well not that experienced, only built 2, but well read. Ideally you want the touch hole as far back as possible and in the middle vertically. Basically you have more than enough room. In fact it looks like you are a little too far back. This will give plenty of room for the liner but will...

    Chamber's York build

Thanks Looking back there were a few but nothing seemed too serious. Well retrospectively anyway. :ThankYou: I think reading about how problems are overcome by others is my favorite part so I have tried to include few of these.

    Chamber's York build

well been fun and games but I think we are just about there. Barrel did not bed down such that the touch hole lined up perfectly so the white lightning liner didn't work. Had a new liner made but ended breaking off a centre drill trying to drill it in situ so ended up drilling the touch hole...

Where is the mark where you want to drill?

Hold your horses mate Please before you do anymore inlet the lock and make sure everything lines up. I did exactly the same as you and then the lock arrived. I had to set the barrel back1/4" and further down to get things close to being in place. Then the tang, lugs and pins needed redoing. It...
