    Opinions on Dangler browning solution

I watched Mike Bellevue use Homer Danglers on his YouTube sight. Was very impressed. Since then I have used it and am extremely impressed!! So very easy to use. You can do just one coat or as many as you like until you achieve the results you want. I used Dangler's browning solution on the...

    Stuck ball in percussion cylinder

Pull the nipple off and see if you can dribble a little powder behind the bad powder. Re install nipple and fire it.

    Black powder revolver for protection

If your wife and young children depended on you to protect them from being killed... what would you carry? I love my cap and ball pistols and love to shoot them and under ideal conditions they would do fine to protect me, but with that being said, knowing over the past 50+ years of shooting them...

It happened again today at the public range...........

I have the same experience. Over the years I have had young and old people approach me and ask about my muzzleloaders. After I explain everything I always ask if they would like to shoot one. 99% of them answer in the affirmative. 100% of them walk away with a smile on their faces! Makes my day...

    Ordered Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle

Make sure you have quality wire cutters. My regular wire cutters were almost worthless agains the wire that came with the SMR kit. Had to buy a new high dollar cutter.

Lots of chatter about caliber & loads for elk, but almost no mention of barrel length, nor rifling twist rate.

I have seen where a father and son bought identical rifles at the same time. When at the range they did not like the same loads. Both had 1/48 twist. One shot the patched ball better and one liked a conical R.E.A.L. bullet. My humble opinion... there are NO absolutes when it comes to finding a...

    Best gauge

For grouse... any gauge will do so long as you aim for the head in flight. As for rabbits,,, I never use a shotgun. My .36 TVM is deadly and the Kibler SMR .40 is going to used on bunnies as well.

    Problems With "New" Pedersoli Shotgun

Just an FYI... next time spray with ether(starting fluid). It will cut and clean every bit of gunk, oils, grease etc. in seconds. Then you will have to re-lube. Works great.

    Using tow for wads?

My tow has caused more than one fire. Lucky for me they were small and I caught them quickly. Most will just smolder, but be careful. Love to use it as it is my most accurate loading.

    Northwest Gun Fun!

My trade gun is very accurate with Tow,, but be careful. After you shoot look for the tow wad down range. It has a tendency to smolder and even start fires if you are shooting in a dry grass area.

hunters, how do you handle your deer once it is down?

When we hunt antelope we get them gutted immediately, clean any dirt off if there is a spot of dirt. We then place milk jugs filled with water and then frozen,, into the open cavity. Normally place 2 of them inside. Take them back to camp and cover with loose tarp with the frozen milk. jugs inside.

Grease or Oil on the Arbor

I am with you on the white lithium grease. Been using it on the arbors of all my cap and ball pistols since 1968. Have had nothing but great luck with it,,, no problems...ever! Keeps everything turning nice and smooth. Each tube I have bought has lasted at a minimum 5 years.

    Hunt for Arrowheads

We used to own 640 acres on the south end of the Big Horn mountains. On the west boundary were numerous Tipi rings and old fire pits. There we (mostly my younger brother) have found numerous arrow heads, scrapers, awls etc. I once took a good friend up to our land to hunt mule deer as it was a...
