Thor Bullets Sizing Pack concerns / removing breechplugs for caliber sizing

Well instead of just removing the bullet to see which seats best you can shoot all of the samples and achieve the same thing, so no removal of plug or brass rod needed.

Thor Bullets Sizing Pack concerns / removing breechplugs for caliber sizing

Yeah, well you could also use a caliper to measure your bore. That still doesn't tell you which bullet is going to work the best, that is why they send samples. They are cheap so best to know which will work the best. Here is a recovered Thor from 80 yds shot through the lungs of WT, doesn't...

Thor Bullets Sizing Pack concerns / removing breechplugs for caliber sizing

I have a T/C 50 cal Encore and have used the Thor bullets in Colorado as I could not use sabots; they grouped very well for me and open up and cut like a guillotine. I believe I used the .502's.

Have you ever considered the cost of doing business

You should count yourself lucky to be able to charge anything for doing something you love to do, not many can. And if it's not enough, don't do it.

    Let's Discuss.......Mushrooms.

I would not trust anyone who identifies a gill mushroom from the top and the fact that you've eaten them without knowing what they are is borderline insane...

    Chambers New England Fowler Finished!

Excellent! The panels borders could have been thinned a bit, but I'm nitpicking now.... The carvings are very nice indeed. Most I would recommend not going to that extent on carving for their first attempt, but you either have carved before or have a gift, well done. I've seen several here...

    Let's Discuss.......Mushrooms.

There are lots of easy to identify mushrooms that are delicious. Morels, shaggy mane, hen of the woods, chicken of the woods, oysters, honey and of course giant puffballs to name a few. Only one I've grown is lion's mane.

    Coyote Skull

Definitely a hog for many reasons and you can see where the upper tusks were sharpened by the lower. Probably dumped by someone after butchering or hog roast if they are not invasive around you. But if that is a 22 hole, it certainly didn't kill it, just made it mad... If domestic...

My Apprentice and Her English Fowler

This may be your best string yet, Dave. Looking forward to seeing more of this project!

    Chambers English Fowler Completed!

Oxpho-Blue. I rubbed the barrel back a lot more than the other Chamber guns I built to give it more of an English look, I guess. After taking it turkey and bear hunting it has taken on a very nice natural patina. When bear hunting I could watch it change from day to day even though it was...

Is a spiral striped ramrod correct?

A stated above potassium permanganate works wonderfully on hickory. And it's a cool chemistry reaction, goes on dark purple and oxidizes the wood to a very warm brown, FYI it will do the same to your skin... Darken with more coats as needed. I stained this bow with it, turned out just as I was...

    Chambers English Fowler Completed!

That is correct, it is steel. Don't know about the New England Fowler, but the Steel was available with the English Fowler kit. Thanks for the complement.

Can anyone tell me anything about this gun I found it in a field.

Yeah, right... found in a field...

Lions mane mushroom/ chicken of the woods

That's a bummer.... They will keep going several years even after the tree dies as well. I have one tree in particular that has 2-3 hens on it every year, probably pulled over a 100 lbs of mushrooms off of it.

    Dutch Schultz Book?

I got it and went through it. Couple good tips in there, the main theme is when building a load to be consistent in your methodology and to only change one variable at a time. Not rocket science by any means, but helpful to those that may have never reloaded. His concoction is also no secret...

Is this the worst inletting job you've ever seen?

Yes it is. Looks like a mouse was chewing on it. But looks correctable with shims and patients and additional chisels, hard to do with just flat chisels. And I'm wondering if the chisels ever got sharp, just because you sharpen them does not mean they got sharp...

    Record cap price

If you know what you're doing, reloads are not only indistinguishable (I did it), but far better than factory, basically custom for each weapon.
