I predict dualist1954 original 1851 Colt will not cap jam.

    Not too bright are you?

    Percussion or Flintlock?

I think the American Long Rifle was used by a lot more mountain men than the Trade gun for its range and accuracy. Plus if Hawken made 100 rifles in 1850 alone I think they may have made more than 450.

    Percussion or Flintlock?

I'd like to own a flintlock because if I don't I think I'll be missing out on a unique experience. But that being said I won’t quit shooting my GPR just because it’s percussion cap. I love shooting it and with a flintlock I’ll be able to shoot and enjoy both. I personally enjoy the banter as...

    Percussion or Flintlock?

But with figures like John Johnston, Kit Carson, Jim Bridger, Hugh Glass and Theodore Roosevelt just to name a few of the men of the west who carried Hawken rifles I think it’s safe to say those that could afford them did.

    Kibler Hawken?

And I guess that is fine but I would hate to limit my self to just one style of muzzleloader because of where or what I live near.

    Kibler Hawken?

While I have my sights on a Kibler SMR in the very near future if he puts out a Hawken I will be there.

    Percussion or Flintlock?

Got it thanks. I'll print it and hang it as soon as I can get and build my flinter.

    Percussion or Flintlock?

I just want to thank all of you for your input it has been very enlightening. Since I already have two percussion rifles and after all the input here I’ve decided to go with a Flinter. Thanks everyone.

    Percussion or Flintlock?

I really do appreciate all the input everyone has shared with me. I can’t say it has made my decision any easier but it has certainly opened my eyes. I’m thinking I would do myself a disservice if I didn’t at least try a flintlock. I thought I would build a Pedersoli Pennsylvania or Kentucky...

I know it was wrong, but....

Congrads. I love mine. I'm sure you will love yours also. Very nice rifles. Yeah, I'm still waiting. But I already know where mines going and unfortunately it isn't to buy another gun. Got to give it right back to the Taxman.

    Percussion or Flintlock?

I am curious so please bear with me. I am very new to Black powder and muzzle loading. I have two percussion rifles a GPR and a Tradition St. Louis both from kits. I’m very happy with both and plan to purchase or build more rifles. My question is are most members using percussion or flintlock...

    I've got a question

Just an update for anyone interested. I received my two Ted Cash No. 11 ratcheted nipple heads from Log Cabin today and they work great with GPR. They are a little sloppy on the Traditions St Louis but that’s okay since I have the cheap nipple wrench that fits it fine. So I don’t think the...

Traditions Hawken Vs. Woodswalk | Muzzle Loaders in the field

Interesting video, thanks for sharing. Also wanted to say thanks for the series on building a Tradition St. Louis Hawken I used it when I build mine and it helped a lot for my first build.

    I've got a question

You are correct I mis-named the kit. It is a GPR Lyman Signature Series Kit made by Pedersoli. Thanks for keeping on the straight and narrow.
