Questions on arbor with new 1851 Uberti London model

I know not again huh. So I just got this Uberti 1851 Navy London model and I know Uberti's have an issue with short arbors. But does that include the London models? I have to ask because I can get my barrel on enough to check against the frame. It's just ever so slightly, just a smidgen a past...

    Cabelas/ Bass Pro?

I just received my 1851 Uberti London Navy from MidwaUSA and it was perfect, Wrapped in plastic, covered in oil and in Uberti's little cardboard box. Sorry others had issues but I'd buy from them again. Their prices are great.

    1860 Army replicas

Don't know about the 1860 Army's but I have one each 1851 Navy and I have to say I like the fit and feel of Uberti much better than my Pietta.

I was happy with my Pietta

That was until I got my new Uberti 1851 Navy London. As you can see the Pietta on top with the Uberti on the bottom how different the grips are. I find the Uberti grip much nicer.

    Woodsrunner pre-orders

Just got an email from Kiblers and they are taking preorders for their new rifle the Woodsrunner. It looks nice. If I wasn't in the middle of building a new PC I'd look into buying a kit to build.

I'm not going to nit-pic with you. I am sure soldiers and Rangers shot their enemy's horses. They were after all a much bigger target making them much easier to hit. But that is not why the Walkers and Dragoons were called Horse Pistols. It was because of the size and weight of said pistols...

Oh you'll like this one. There are over 17000 photo in the Library of Congress of the Civil War ear. A lot of the soldiers are sporting weapons many have both pistols and rifles. Are they props? I seriously doubt it. But I wasn't there to confirm that.

Okay I only threw out the single action pistols to point out that pistols before the Walker were known as Horse Pistols. Not because they could drop a horse but because they had to be carried in holsters on the horse because of weight and length.

Your quote not mine. And I said I was done but here we are again. It's a photo you weren't there and neither was I. I don't know what the guy was trying to do and neither do you. But he had a picture made and he had three pistols let it go. I say cavalry soldiers carried more than one pistol...

Okay not to beat a dead horse but the term Horse Pistol came about due to pistols that were carried in a holster on the horse's saddle because there were too big to carry on your person. As far back as Lewis and Clark.. Pistols | Discovering Lewis & Clark ® Also the picture is from the Library...

I don't think anyone said anyone was carrying six pistol tucked into a sash. But two, sure. Wild Bill used holsters early on, in cross draw fashion but later on went to a sash. I suspect simular to the cross draw holsters, more or less near the front but to the side. It's hard to compare what we...

Jesse is reported to have carried as many as six pistols while riding with Bloody Bill Anderson. I doubt he was the only one to do so. I admit many if not most would have been in saddle holsters but not all. Even Wild Bill Hickok carried two 1851 Navies in a sash later in life.
