    Cherokee or Senena

10 gr, that's a light load, very frugal on powder. I was using 20 gr last time I had her out. Since I have to order a nipple maybe i will order some conicals for it too.

    Cherokee or Senena

Fyi: they (Cherokee & Senena) take a different nipple size than anything else from T/C.

    Cherokee or Senena

Awesome, thanks. Unfortunately I just got a package in the mail from Log Cabin, I could have saved on shipping. Maybe my local sporting goods store will have them. Big box place, but sometimes that's where I have to go. They can't be dressed up with a file? Or are they cheap enough not...

    Cherokee or Senena

#11, is that the size we should be using? I am just using what the seller gave me with the gun. I will check the size later. As some nipples just to large? What is the proper size and what is the allowable +/-

    Cherokee or Senena

Do you have light strike issues with your Cherokee or Senena? Maybe it is my caps, but every time last shooting session I had to drop the hammer twice.

    Veteran Arms?

I had not found them before either. Looks like they only have 1 price. $690 for a long gun $425 for pistols

How does the handling compare between the Hawken and the Senecas? I am looking for a low cost 1st build. I want it to be accessable for the S.O. too, so having a Ballance point closer to the back is important.

Interesting. Thank you for the old ad. I would love to find her one of those .45 cal drop in barrels.

Thank you. Sorry for jacking your other thread.

    Cherokee or Senena

What do I have here? Previously I said it was a Crockett, because it is not my gun, but my Significant other's. So I rarely take it to the range, and they rarely come with me. I took it out the other day and saw that it was a Cherokee.... Then I was reading about them in another thread and...

    TC .32 Cherokee

If it is like ours it shoots better than my ability to shoot it. I wish it were a tad heavier, but it is perfect for my slight of frame significant other. I have some modern small bore carbines that have more mass to them.

Deleted, moving to another thread, where more appropriate.

    TC .32 Cherokee

Would it be backwards compatible? Say, if we wanted to use this gun on deer, could we get a .45 Seneca barrel and drop it in. With a wedge and a hooked brech this would take all of 30 seconds.

    TC .32 Cherokee

Would the barrel still be marked Cherokee? I was wondering because the stock and trigger guard (and set triggers) look more like the Seneca photos above.

New here and green to BP

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I just realized that the .32 in our house is a TC Cherokee, not a Crockett. Small cap box in the stock and double set triggers. It is really my significant other's gun that I got her because mine was too heavy for her to handle comfortably. Being her gun I...

    Un-patched balls ruin your barrel.

No, but that is interesting. How much, and what kind of wadding would I need? Becides for lubed patches, and cleaning cloths, I don't bring any wadding with me.

    TC .32 Cherokee

It turns out that we have a .32 Cherokee!!! I had previously thought it was a Crockett. It is really my significant other's gun, so I shoot it even less than I do my own, hence me forgetting what it is. It has doubled set triggers, and a patchbox with light engraving. Oncevset the main...

    Un-patched balls ruin your barrel.

I have the upmost respect for those who can speak multiple languages. I never seem to get much past a few phrases in anything, and those are badly pronounced. The ability to have even a hauling conversation in your non-native tongue is impressive. To be able to do it in a fistful of...

    Un-patched balls ruin your barrel.

I appreciate all the help guys! Ya, I don't plan on making a habit of this. Actually a .490 ball was showing me better accuracy than a .495, with the same .018 patch, and with the smaller ball I have never had such a problem ramming it home. Still now I have 90 larger balls that I will use...

    Un-patched balls ruin your barrel.

While I don't plan on doing it again, I was surprised that I hit anything. I was REALLY surprised that I hit where I was aiming. In retrospect, I should have just packed down some wadding (used cleaning patches) and fired it off with those. The onlookers would have gotten to see a flintlock...
