    peach pie?

I made a nice peach pie the other day. I used 8-9 large fresh peaches, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and cinnamon to taste. Combine all that and immediately put it into a prepared pie crust - mound it up high! Then top it with another pie crust - cut vent holes and...

    RIP Musketman!

Well just Damn! I am sitting here with a tear in my eye for a man I never met. Randy was a friend to all, and it pains me to know that he has passed. I drifted away from the forum due to life and family obligations. I just stopped back by today and this is the first thread that I saw. What...

Pocket screwdriver for Deluxe Siler jaw screw ??

The P38 is one of the best pieces of equipment I ever got from the Army. I keep one on the key chain. Kids are amazed that I can open a can with it...

Pocket screwdriver for Deluxe Siler jaw screw ??

Well, I had a good thought. You could have gotten an old Army P38 can opener. It would work fine and serve double duty.

    TC Hawken with 209 conversion

I have removed two of those things. A small pair of vise grips and away you go!

    CVA Hawken project

That comes from a poor design on some of the early inlines that were prone to failure. I have never heard of a sidelock failing unless some numbskull loaded it with smokeless...

Plains percussion rifle - unknown maker

You do and don't have a CVA Mountain rifle. When CVA got out of the sidelock business, Deer Creek bought their stock. They assembled a rifle from the Mountain Rifle parts and used their barrels. I believe that they called them the Northwest rifle or some such name. The give away that it is...

    Another one finished.....

Out-freaking-standing Blahman! Good to see a post from you! Even better to have it with eye candy like that!! (I have been off the forum a bit - darned life getting in the way). Anyone would be proud to own that beauty!

need ideas on fitting an trigger guard

I understand that your wife has put the kibosh on buying another trigger guard. What about trading? Offer up one of the ones you won't use in the classifieds. Who knows, it may work!

    Breastplate

Very nice! My girls are in the Indian Princess program through the Y, and I am slowly building my regalia. I picked up a bone, brass bead and leather Breastplate off of evilBay a while back. I got it cheaper than buying the parts and doing it myself. I like yours much better!

    mini cannon find

The bore is crappy, but it should be fine for blanks. The trunnion mounts are the same as the ones for the CVA Old Ironsides that I have. It is a shooter, so I don't see a problem with this one going bang. That being said, I am no expert...

Thanks! Glad to hear that my half baked idea actually got fully done!

    Horn question

I have seen all sorts of creative plugs for horns, but a thought came to mind. The tip of the horn is cut off to make it square, then a hole drilled. Why couldn't the cut off piece be shaped into the stopper? :hmm:

New hawk from a ballpeen hammer

Outstanding! I am starting to look for a hawk for the Indian Princess program I am in with my girls. I envy your ability to convert a cast off hammer into a beauty like that.

    I am jealous. Great find!

    Loading the Hawkins

Very good tutorial, the only thing I would question is the first photo where you tell the greenhorn that they need everything in the photo - they can get by with either Pyrodex or real Blackpowder - they don't need both. Yes, you mention that in the subsequent sections, but newbies sometimes...

    CVA cannon?

I have one of the CVA Old Ironsides kit cannons, and it is fun. I envy you as I really one the Napoleon (being a former Artilleryman), but thanks to the wonderful economy, that is not in the cards for now. Maybe one day I will luck out and find one at a yard sale or something.

States that Do Not Allow Fiber Optics for Hunting

I have been thinking about the whole fiber optic sight thing. I don't care for their looks - they look too much like toy parts to me - but I do understand their functionality. Anyway, how well would they work if you painted the sides of the sights black so that the part you view is still the...
