    Ignition issue with Flint GPR

I recommend either drilling the Lyman vent liner with a 1/16" drill bit, or put in an RMC liner. I think I had to drill the RMC out to 1/16" also (foggy brain syndrome). I recommend the RMC vent liner.

Do you have the original Lyman vent liner in your GPR?

Wedge Pins falling out on a GPR - Using an Arbor Press to tighten

Lymans had been made by Investarms not Interarms.

Wedge Pins falling out on a GPR - Using an Arbor Press to tighten

I did not originate this idea but I adopted it and it works: bend the wedges however you like BUT insert them from the left side for a right handed rifle (not the right as Lyman states). I believe vibration from firing is a major cause of GPR wedges walking out to the right when inserted from...

    Flintlock questions

Daveboone said "And keep your supporting hands fingers away from the lock! I have a very painful reminder (and thinking permanent tattoo) from my pinky being too close!" I happen to have one of those pinky tattoos also. Cussed up a storm immediately upon firing.

    soften/melt Wonder Lube ?

Place a Pan with a little water on the stove. Place WL inside a jar lid (or something similar) and float the lid on top of the water. Turn on stove and the heated water will melt the WL inside the jar lid. Add patches to the melted WL.

Seeking Pictures and Advice for Refinishing a Lyman GPR

A lot of the dark oil stain on the GPR will be removed by rubbing the stock with denatured alcohol on a cloth.

    Charge not going off, help

When you have a ball puller, and if your range rod has a T handle, place the T between two close together trees and pull the rifle off of the rod and ball.

Looking for info on fine tuning a flintlock

Following up on the OP's question is the GPR's coil mainspring generally considered to be to strong, to weak or just right?

    Unique Cases- musket case

I have one for my Lyman GPR. It is a good case and I recommend it. The only negative I can mention is that mine came with a shoulder strap in addition to the dual handles. I may eventually cut the shoulder strap off the case as I don't need it or use it.

    fixing bad tang inletting

On second thought! It appears that "chatter marks" can be ruled out as you had to reduce the proud wood in some of those areas.

    fixing bad tang inletting

My guess is that those are chatter marks (?) left by what ever stock shaping machine Investarms used. I saw something similar on the forearm of my GPR when I applied a finish last week. I am not a muzzleloader builder but I was able to remove the marks with sandpaper. However, the marks on your...

I have reached the conclusion that the Lymans, including my GPR, are pretty much assembled Kit Guns.

Is there a way to tighten the frizzen closed?

    Thanks Grenadier1758.

Is there a way to tighten the frizzen closed?

Probably a dumb question but.... could a bead of JB Weld be applied around the top edge of the pan and once hard then filed to match the bottom of the frizzen?

Contact Dixon's Muzzleloading in Penna. They are a warranty shop for Lyman and should have the screws. They will be metric.

Need advise on Lyman GPR trigger group.

I agree with Bubba. 50 regarding the Davis Deerslayer. Also, replace the Lyman Lock Sear Spring with a lighter spring - it isn't necessary if you will always shoot with the set trigger set, however if ever shooting with the front trigger only the lighter spring is much, much better.
