    I just can't use bacon fat for these reasons: 1 My wife won't let me have it because she makes food taste so good with it. 2 I worried that if I used it and smelled bacon after every shot my time at the range would be drastically cut short because I would get hungry and go straight home!

    I put a 50/50 combo of peroxide and white vinegar to eat out leading and left it in a little too long what came out was rust colored and the bore tries to rust on me (but it got the lead out.). Sometimes the chemical reaction can be more than you want.

    There's nothing like holding a c n b and shootin' it. And if it's close to the original even better. I can't put into words what it's like but it's kinda like steppin' back and doing it back then and I don't mean killing, I mean feeling HISTORY. So cool.

    I like the uberti because it has the period correct grip frame shape. Other brands don't!! As for modifying the gun, shoot it first and if it works good enough then leave it alone. Try different loads and caps if it has problems. Different caps can make a big difference in function and reliabily.

    1861 colts made in the last 40+ are made Wrong. The barrel is nothing but the 1860 44 barrel with a smaller bore, so you got a Heavy barrel feeling gun that don' t feel right.
