New problem with a carbon ring in powder space!

Hello All,
I have a New problem with a carbon ring in powder space after 5 shots which kills accuracy. I've shot smokepoles for 25 years and now this shows up.
What can I do to not have this happen besides don't shoot??

What are you using for lube? Did you recently change?

Wipe after each shot. I don't generally get fouling rings shooting balls but do always have them shooting flat base bullets. Exception was very recently shooting a 54 with RB and 45 grain charges and no wiping. Major fouling rings!

Over powder wads help a lot. Works for me.

I use goex and lube with crisco,
So what do you wipe with after ever shot??

The secret solution I use to wipe between shots is any solution that will dissolve black powder fouling. There're several thousand good solutions out there that work. I use very cheap rubbing alcohol to dampen a loose patch. Others will use a solution that has a bit of grease dissolving soap and water. Still others use a solution that mixes soap, hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol to clean the bore between shots. That's three of thousands of wiping solutions. If your solution for wiping between shots removes the crust ring, then you are using the correct cleaning solution.

I never get carbon rings with PRB or when using over powder wads. I don't think Crisco is a great lube. I've had good luck with commercial lubes with any powder.
