what to use instead of lead balls

I'm not the one that posted, but I have been trying to source 12.5mm (0.492) brass or copper RB from manufacturers from the communist land overseas. Not a common size and to have it produced and shipped unless in large quantities would be cost-prohibitive. Many suppliers are not even interested...

    broken .062 drill bit removal?

Maybe try a left hand 1.5mm bit in a pin vice? 1.5mm is a wee bit smaller than .062 I believe.

I have a 54 TC Hawken and would probably be quite happy with a smaller diameter ball. Can always patch up.

    Travelers Swiss question

What I have found, if you usually have the same Fred/Ex driver is to talk to him or her and work something out to placement, signature, etc. of your items. Most of them get paid by package delivered, and as soon as they deliver that package it's time and money to them. Every time they try and...

    Misfire

    Misfire

I'm not saying anything, ok yes I will. You put the blunt end of the drill bit in the hole to check size, not the cutting end. A good hollow ground driver bit should get the liner out. Notice post above^^^^ Left hand thread?????

Whatever you choose, pack it so it won't get damaged as collecting on the insurance takes quite a long while. YOU own it until it is delivered. ;)

    Lyman Great Plains Questions

I bought a Browning barrel that had a tube STUCK but good. I soaked it in Kroil overnight, wouldn't budge. Then Acetone / ATF overnight. No budge. Bought a heavy duty choke wrench in the mean time as the one I had was tweaking the nubs. Still no budge. Heated the barrel with a heatgun till...

packing a Flintlock rifle for shipping

If it's an expensive rifle I would make a plywood crate for it, 1/4" is fine, but I would also line it with a sheet of luan glued to the plywood, it's cheap, even now, and will add an extra layer of protection.
