    After the Kibler Kits

I'm lucky in a way, I guess. I seem to fit the average manufacturers are aiming for, on just about everything.

    Kibler - field observations?

    Pretty good for a guess...

    Kibler - field observations?

I just slapped a tape measure on my Woodsrunner, and it's a little over 55 inches.

My Kibler Colonial Rifle is completed

I like the minimalist incising you did.

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

Ok. Shipped Friday; I got it here in California about 11:00 AM Monday (yesterday). Can't argue with that... Of course, I had to intercept the mail carrier to get it. According to USPS rules, carriers on a rural route are supposed to make an attempt to deliver, including coming down a drive...

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

I already did the wait thing; I ordered mine last summer. :) add: Just checked my email; it shipped this morning.

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

We'll see. Got an email this morning saying Bree had sent me the two invoices, but the only one for the lock was in my inbox. add: Instead of playing email tag, I just called Bree and paid the other invoice over the phone. So the kit will go out tomorrow morning. Now I'm just faced with the...

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

Unfortunately, the only money my wife has is what she gets from me. Although I'll admit that once it's in her possession, she can be pretty hardnosed about turning loose of it. I closed the loan today, and sent Lori an email this afternoon. Waiting for an invoice, so I can pay online. The gal...

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

Oogh... called my go-to short-term loan source today, and they have a new policy: their minimum loan amount is now three thousand. Not really a problem since I'll be paying it off the first month anyway, but it's annoying. Had they been more flexible, I might have strung the payments out over...

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

Hallelujah... I got a notice from Lori that my Woodsrunner kit is finally boxed up and ready to ship. It's been a long wait; apparently they had a problem with their supplier of .54 barrel blanks. And wouldn't you know it: my refrigerator and water heater both crashed on me in the last two...

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

I think they are, too. Years ago my brother was building a dome house in the hills north of Los Angeles, and had no construction experience. But he did have a lot of books, and I was browsing through them one day. Some of them were absolute BS - for example, one sneered at construction...

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

.54. I decided 'in for a penny, in for a pound.' And I figured it will also be less muzzle-heavy.

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

When I pre-ordered my Woodsrunner kit back in July I specified a .45 barrel, to match my Southern Mountain rifle. My thinking was that having two of the same caliber would simplify logistics, and save me a few bucks by using the same smaller balls on the two guns. This week I asked myself...

In over my head with mystery rifle?

Never mind. I don't know how to delete my reply, so I edited it. No sense even getting started....

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

I wish I could say I own that. But I'm actually quoting Jughead, from an Archie comic book maybe fifty years ago. :)

    Kibler Woodsrunner kit

Had absolutely no intention of ever building another flintlock, because the .45 Kibler Southern Mountain rifle I built a while back is so sweet. But I stumbled into a youtube video this evening about the latest Kibler kit: a 'Woodsrunner' rifle in .45, .50 and .54 caliber. It's a take-off on a...

Would this rifle be ok for a awi impression?

A very good point. Although for a subsistence farmer who was just scraping by, saving up enough extra money for a gun in just one year seems a little optimistic Was there any trade in used guns back then? Like maybe military muskets that wound up on the open market?

    Rev War Patch Knife

Just guessing: maybe Jacque came up with the idea of a back spring, to hold the blade open or closed?

Would this rifle be ok for a awi impression?

OK, I'm an *****. I reread your post - sober this time... my sincere and embarrassed apologies.

Would this rifle be ok for a awi impression?

Wound a little tight there, are we? You've won some sort of 'special' award, for shoe horning the word 'Nazi' into a totally nonpolitical thread... :) I think you should lighten up. If no one worried about standards the OP wouldn't have asked his question, and no one would have bothered to...
