I am Nick (Nicholas) Taylor. I live in Southampton, England, UK. I have been shooting and collecting black powder guns since 1977.

not sure of the exact 'family history ... i think that my maternal grandmother was born in Canada, but her husband was born in Ireland. I know that my father's dad was born in Canada, but i think his mom might have been born in Scotland ... makes me a Celt, i guess

I am Nick (Nicholas) Taylor. I live in Southampton, England, UK. I have been shooting and collecting black powder guns since 1977.

My Dad's people came from Wales and Scotland, and my Mom's folks were off-the-boat from what is now the Republic of Ireland (Ulster, i think) ... so (depending on your ethnicity) we have that snake - mongoose thing going on ... but it you shoot blackpowder, i'm will to let it be. At any rate...

    Kibler's Hunting Pouch

with all due respect, i disagree. I've built a number of bags for myself, and over the years, i've collected what i think is a pretty modest collection of leatherworking tools along the way. If you get all the gear that's shown in the photos, and you count in the value of the leather, i'd...

Odd spots on curly maple stock

concur with the consensus... it's bugs for sure. if you don't like the idea of filling in the gouges, you may want to consider a brass patch and pretend you meant that. also, you want to make sure that you kill whatever may still lurk in the wood ... those little buggers are tenacious as can...

How many muzzleloaders have you built

well, the first was for my wife, then a scratch built, then a bunch of tinkering with Thompson Center parts - more or less a frankenbuild, then three from Kibler ... probably a colonal fowler later on ... Hi, my name is Matt and i'm a flint addict... (i see myself standing on the little stage...

tightening the jaw screw pushes the flint out?

my two cents: i have used both lead and leather for flint wraps. now i can't attest to what others might or might not be using for lead wraps, but out of curiosity one afternoon, i busted out my old and reliable reloading scale (good to 1/10th of a grain - remember 7000 grains to the pound...
