    Bobby Hoyt

Yes he does. If you ask him to.

I had him convert a 54 hawken into a 50 with a target liner. I believe it was about $175 about 2 - 3 years ago. I drove it up to his house since I was going to be in the area. Remote is putting it mildly.

    Preferred Cleaning Patches?

When I am shooting, I use doubled up paper towels to swab between each shot. They are compressible and readily absorb any water moisture formed in the barrel. Flannel patches will work also but they have to be washed a couple of times to allow them to absorb cleaners readily. When I clean...

    GOEX PLANT

Question. Where will the military get it's BP for munitions use?

    GOEX PLANT

Most of the new muzzleloader shooters are shooting in line rifles. They usually use pellets, either Pyrodex or T7. B P shooting has been in decline for some years. Cowboy shooting is also declining as younger people didn't grow up with John Wayne and Roy Rogers. They want to shoot IDPA and...

    GOEX PLANT

I believe Elephant is made in Brazil. I have used it before and found it to be less powerful than Goex.

    GOEX PLANT

They are still making Pyrodex so the revolver shooters won't be affected.

    Long forcing cone C&B revolvers?

I cut 11* forcing cones in all my revolvers and, in some it makes a big difference, in others not so much. It does stop spitting lead if you use conversion cylinders.

    2F in a .44?

I use 2F and Pyro RS in my Beals revolvers when I run out of 3F. I only shoot at 20 yards so POI change isn't drastic.

    Charles Moore Flintlock Target Pistol

FYI, I filed down the rear sight of mine and now I can use a six o'clock hold with a 5 inch bull and the shots stay in the black. I haven't done it yet but I have bought a reproduction sight for a colt revolver from Dixie and I plan to file it down to fit the front sight's ridiculously small...

Looking for some info about Davis trigger company

Just trying to get some experiences from folks who have ordered from them. I hate to bother small businesses with phone calls if I get get info from others experiences. I had a gun repair business for many years and phone calls took me away from the job.

Looking for some info about Davis trigger company

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but here goes. Can someone tell me how long Davis takes to ship out a Deerslayer trigger? I sent my money order a few weeks ago and haven't heard a peep out of them? TIA, John

    Traditions Crockett .32 range day

I posted this on another forum and copied to this one. I finally got some time to wring out some loads for my Crockett .32 rifle. One thing I did was changed the sights. I needed a wider front (I'm old) and I wanted the same rear as I have on my Great Plains rifles. I only used Pyrodex P and...

Question about Traditions date of manufacture

Thanks. I was hoping that convoluted code they put on the barrel contained a manufacture date. :(

    Good Black powder source??

I second Back Creek Gun Shop if you happen to be in the Winchester, VA area. You can also watch a NSSF skirmish if you time your visit right.

    Humidity?

+1 for my experience. In Louisiana, fouling stayed much softer than in Maryland.

Wax Biscuits a Success in 1860 Colt.

I buy my own felt from a woman who has been selling it to gunners for years. I got her info either on SASS or castboolits.com. I use a hole punch and cut them while I watch the **** tube. When I have about a thousand made up, I go outside with my hotplate and melt my lube. I use 33% beeswax...

Replacement front sight for Colt revolvers

I have been making mine out of brass keys but brass keys are starting to get like hens teeth. It would be great if someone made a round brass washer with no hole that was the same with as a Colt front sight cut. Then you can sweat or epoxy it in and just file to shape.

    Pillow Ticking patches

I have found that a different lube makes patches act differently. For instance, if I use Bore Butter on my GPR.50 cal with a .490 bullet and .015 pocket ticking patch, I have to work hard at getting the ball down. If I just chance to 1/8 Napa oil/water lube, the ball slides down the barrel...
