    Gardening ..again

I have a turnip plant by the corner of my house that appeared out of the blue. Likely bird droppings after they were feeding in then neighbor’s deer food plot… It’s been looking beautiful in the morning, and totally wilted in the afternoon. I’m waiting for the purple top to get big enuf to eat…

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

And you can still use them for eggs! How many can you get out of a lid ?

Should I or should I not?

I don’t have any “unshot safe queens”. Never will. Shoot it, and make sure to clean it good. That $100 value loss you’re worried about will probably be erased by value gained over time.

@WALT53 @longcruise @deerstalkert @Century to late @Dutch7 @snakebit Pleased to pass on that Thad didn’t! Just heard back from my PM to him, and he’s doing okay… “Just decided to fade away for awhile to get other stuff done at home and the camp.” He’ll be back.

One of the members has TDM’s address, so he sent him a letter to inquire about his status. Waiting for whatever results come from that, but snail mail isn’t what it used to be. The snails got slower.

    Percussion Caps Found

$5.62 here’bouts in Middle TN Wally locations. I haven’t found it to be too hard to find them. Just have to be persistent, and check for them on every visit. It makes more sense to me to use #11 nipples on my Remmy revolver so I only have to stock one size of cap. Fits the rifles, fits the...

Found more at a Wally’s in Clarksville yesterday… about the fifth or sixth time checking for them.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Hey…. Does anyone know what’s become of @TDM ? He was a regular contributor here on this thread, but his posts stopped on July 30th. I’m getting a little worried about him, and miss his postings. I sent him a PM a few days ago and also sent him my email address in case a family member...

Kibler Rifles What Caliber or Gauge

I’d think an SMR .40 in extra fancy would be a hot seller at a gun show.

    Gardening ..again

My garden is mostly wiped out by now... no rain to speak of for several weeks, and I just didn't feel like watering much this year. Been keeping some late producers watered, like watermelons, pumpkins, butternuts and figs, but the rest I just let go. Almost time to till it up and plant...

Capital idea with the mic stand prop... I'll need to dig one of mine out of the shed and use it that way., Thought never occurred to me to use it in such a manner, but I LIKE IT.

torque setting for percussion pistol nipples

Don’t over-think it. “Finger tight” with the nipple wrench. Any more than that is overkill and unnecessary.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I hosted a club shoot at my place back in April, and at the last club meeting, a club member asked if I’d found an errant loading block somewhere on the woods walk course. I hadn’t thus far. On this past Sunday, while tuning up for this coming weekend’s club shoot by shooting my course (and...
