    Swaged Pritchett bullet sources

Can’t have someone make the mould for you?

This mornings, freehand 5 shot, 50 yards

Great shooting. 👍 That’s a lot better than I can do. I’m feeling a little like George Costanza here, dealing with shrinkage of my marksmanship as I age.

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

If we model you as a particle we can probably ignore it as statistical noise, but if we model you as a system we’ll need to account for transit of said sandwich.

    Swaged Pritchett bullet sources

I’m looking for sources for swaged Pritchett bullets, .550-.568 as were the originals. I am only aware of one source (Brett Gibbons at paper cartridges dot com) so any other sources would be much appreciated. If any forum members here are swaging and wanna talk turkey please send me a message.

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

I take it back. There *is* a Physicist around when you need one, Quantum and otherwise.

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

There’s never a physicist around when you need one.

Who makes the best 1861 Springfield Musket ?

+1 for Pedersoli. With the exception of the one lemon Bess someone here on the forum bought I’ve not known of anyone unhappy with theirs and have been happy with mine.

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

I’m hoping this thread will have more pages but contain less information than the chapter in my old physics text titled “Rotation”. There’s not far to go even counting the practice exercises. I have every confidence. 😎

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Right on. Curiosity is a heck of a motivation, even if for its own sake.

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Is the answer to that question important to you? How important, if so?

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Heh. In this day and age one would expect we could easily model an object flying thru the air, especially a simple thing like a lead ball. Some of the questions people are asking in this thread are tickling the periphery of human knowledge, tho. The closer we want to get to a precise answer, the...

I preparation for the day I dry ball one

Good grief, man. I think I did it twice in one day. Go me 😂

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Do a search for viscous torque.

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

    It’s 5 o’clock somewhere. 😂

I preparation for the day I dry ball one

It’ll make a mess, but it’ll work. Poking some powder into the breech then shooting the ball out is my preferred technique.

    *applause* Congrats. You're a scientist now. 🤓

    What constitutes a "defective gun"?

The pics are of a gun that’s definitely not up to Pedersoli’s usual standards of quality. I’d be looking for a replacement or refund as well from the place that sold it to me. If they tried to pass responsibility up the chain to the importer, factory or wherever I’d stand my ground. They should...

    1 - 48 Twist & Lee R.E.A.L bullets

If you’re deciding which to buy and try first, start with the lighter/ shorter one. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they perform nearly identically tho in practical terms and practical distances. Edit: since your preference is for the heavier one, you could probably just load them up and never...

    .36 Conical Source?

I found some on Gunbroker. You can find a few sellers there who are casting bullets of various types, usually at a pretty good deal.
