Question for the "old guys"...Is it just me or are there others?

I was a teacher, a history teacher. There is good and bad about unions. Here in the coal fields of WV I saw both. In the early 30s my grandfather was driving a truck for a coal company, miners where striking. When he came to the picket line, a mine Forman jumped up on the running board and told...

    Elephant Powder

A few months back I ran into a old muzzleloader who I shoot with many years ago. He told me he had 4 pds of powder to sell. I bought all 4 pds sight unseen….15$ a pound… turned out to be Elephant 3f… no complaints I will store it for use down the road!!

An American Percussion Long Rifle That Has Been In My Family for Many Generations Possibly by John Hinds

You are a lucky man! I am a WV muzzleloader and the name is common in many areas of the state. I will look for reference for that builder. It may well have been made in the Virginia’s. And moved west with westward expansion.

Why wasn’t buckshot preferred over a roundball?

I unloaded a pistol from the civil war. It belonged to a well know General from my area of WV. Single shot precision that was still loaded when the current owner took possession. Has Officers name in small inleted plate so I am sure if it’s history and was purchased from a direct descendent. It...

I don't understand used gun pricing

All guns are high. Stopped into Morgantown WV on way to Fla turkey hunting last week and looked at their used gun rack. Browning BLR lever action in 243 was a tad under 1500$ and a Remington 22 semi, not sure if the model was 800$.... both about 3 times what I would have considered paying.. And...
