    What can you use on a Powderhorn to prevent it from cracking?

    Go to a drug store a get a small bottle of glycerine. Might have to ask the pharmacist. Rub a little on not real thick. Multiple thin coats are better than a thick one.

    Do a pyramid divided into sections parallel with the base. Small section at the top 10pts. Next down 9 pts or so. To the base section being the lowest . Top section about 1/2 inch tall. No negative sections or maybe put some in.

    I cast all my own and I shoot alot can shoot the six bottle target putting at least five in the bottle neck. Don't care about being period correct just want to shoot your socks off!

    I have a.62 cal trade gun shoot a .600 with .022 thick canvas. Any muzzleloader shoot with the sprue up. Don't listen to any one who shoots sprue down no way can you center the sprue. I shoot 60 grs. 2ffg . Hoppies 9 plus for lube. Amazing what you can do with a smooth bore a no rear sight.

    Used to be a guy on here , his handle was Blue Shoulder. Swore by 140 grs. 3fffg.in his .50 Hawkins off the bench. Haven't heard from him in awhile. Think he quit shooting . Something about having his shoulder replaced. Have to look him up and see how he is doing.

    Used to shoot off hand gun ,40 shot a ,405 ball and .020 teflon ticking rest assured that ball came out looking like a pill. I think that's what you need for accrucy. Would shoot one holers all day long. Used a tapered false muzzle to get it down the barrel. A Wiemer hand cut barrel. Too heavy...
