Who Hunts Reg Seasons With Their Muzzleloader?
Love hunting small game w/ .40 flint Appalachian long rifle. If it's not raining/snowing , take my .50 flint long rifle for deer. Getting old sucks , but still have amazing memories from hunting Pa. flint deer seasons from early 1970's 'til now. My all time favorite deer caliber is a .62...- oldwood

Gardening ..again
Used 1/2 plastic 55 gal. barrel for my "must have" tomato plants. Had a bumper crop , and well pleased. Frost has killed the three plants now. Vines were 6 ft.. Thankful.- oldwood

Toe Plate on your rifle
For yrs. in competition and hunting w/flintlock , Load the rifle , prime the pan , close the frizzen , and tilt the rifle so pan is at an angle slightly up , and bump the gun to settle the priming powder against the touch hole.- oldwood

Strange Day for Me in the Woods.
Last year I found a nice young buck supposedly hit by a Buick 'bout a mile from home. If it's still hot , it goes home w/me. At 70+ yrs. , getting up the last rung on the ladder stand , wearing heavy warm boots , is challenging. Still remember the time I could go out on the mtns. and...- oldwood
