    Tc New Englander 12 gauge

These are great guns. Does yours have a choke or is it fixed (I think the fixed were cylinder)? For turkey I use 90 grains volume of 2F and 100 grains volume of bismuth #4 shot and a CCI #11 Magnum cap. The new bag of shot in the photo is #3. My last load of bismuth #4‘s for 2022 turkey season...

    Holster Storage of Handguns

I store a couple favorite percussion revolvers in El Paso leather, but El Paso uses high grade veg tanned leather and my percussion revolvers are coated in bore butter. I say use them up and wear them out.

AMR 12 Gauge Drop In barrel...Info please.

Here is a TC Hawken with a similar barrel, offered for sale. Seller is being a little coy about the description and originality, but maybe this is the same barrel you have? https://www.gunbroker.com/item/900612099

Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. Announces Intent to Divest Thompson/Center Arms™ Brand

Friends, I believe all the tooling and equipment for making the traditional TC muzzleloaders was destroyed in a 1996 fire several years before S&W purchased TC Arms (in 2006 S&W paid $120,000,000 for TC Arms).

    Over/Under Percussion 12 ga.

@Feltwad could you please share what the problem is with loading the bottom barrel with hammers at half cock on a Beretta O/U percussion gun? Beautiful shotguns!

I think knife-guns are the coolest. Here is a master of the art...... https://brucebumpknives.com/knives

The why of what composes a shotgun load?

I think the purpose of the nitro card is as a gas seal to improve velocity and efficient powder burn.

    Making your own percussion caps?

Keep in mind that the chemical mixture that Sharpshooter-22 sells is confirmed to be corrosive. I wrote and asked him and he confirmed the mixture makes a corrosive cap, but he declined to tell me what the chemicals included in the kit actually are.

Accurate non-lead projectiles in a 1-48 twist barrel?

Ok, sorry about the non lead discussion, but it is required where I hunt. My loads have ranged from 70 grains of FFF to 100 grains. With lead round ball I use a .015 patch. I guess I need to seek out some answers on another forum, as lead bullets are not allowed where I hunt. thanks for the info.

Accurate non-lead projectiles in a 1-48 twist barrel?

I have a TC Firestorm flintlock and it has a 1-48 twist barrel. I am not getting good accuracy from Barnes 250 gr copper projectiles. I have tried a few different plastic sabots with these bullets, but I am barely on paper at 50 yards. I also have poor accuracy (but not nearly as bad) from...

    Building a pistol kit

This is such a cool pistol, can you please share how hard it was to do the ramrod ferrule and barrel pins? could they be done with a Dremel or hand drill? The pins are the part that seems like the hardest. Have you fired it yet?!

    CLOSED Muzzle loading shotgun

I have experienced no problems loading my TC New Englander with modified choke tube, no need to remove it for loading. Now a full choke or tighter might be inconvenient, but I am very happy with modified.

    Bismuth or non-lead shot

Tungsten shot will score your barrel and ruin your gun unless you use a proper tungsten rated plastic wad and somehow are able to keep all the shot inside the wad during the loading process. Bismuth is the answer, and www.rotometals.com has the best bismuth shot at this time.

    magnum percussion caps

The CCI Magnum #11 caps are designed for single shot percussion arms. When used in cap and ball revolvers they will split and fragment causing malfunctions.

TC New Englander with screw in chokes.

My TC New englander works well with a modified choke, 90 grains 2F goex, and 100 grains #4 bismuth shot. I use a cardboard wad over the powder and a couple thin felt lubed wads over the shot. Kills turkeys dead. I have also used a .690 round ball with patch under 80 grains of 2F and it is...
