For sale locally. Guy wants $1500.
The fact the screws for the jaws are real and working makes me wonder. Why??
Ad says they are Sterling silver.

Yes, Central Europe played a lot with them, I don’t think they were ever seen as real just rich guys toys.
There was lots of that. Guns made with glass barrels or such.

But I don’t know how to date them. Fakes were made in the late nineteenth century for colectors.
