Woodsrunner Builders - Tools and Supplies?

I guess I made things out to be more simple. I used a typical Craftsman screwdriver I had for the (3) screws, a pair of pliars to pull pins and tap them in and a 10" single cut for all file work. I used a 6" long chunk off the end of an hop hornbeam sapling to seat the barrel/tang as needed, its...

Seeking Opinions on a Recent Kibler SMR Purchase Experience

I agree with Mr. Coffins. That crack by the tang wasn't going to stay that way. It would have extended in time. Don't care what epoxy was used.

    Longrifle sling?

Crazy Crow has a real beauty that will translate from rifle to rifle to rifle. I made one and its great for the rifle its on now. The Crazy Crow gun strap was around $45 and worth every penny. My Woodsrunner enjoys it.

    Season 2024 Update

Nice start. Get ya' a self bow if you want to go back farther.

    Osage Orange for ramrods?

I tried to make osage arrows. They are extra flexible and wouldnt spine up. I have a suspicion a ram rod would be worse at the extra length required.

    Pronghorn down

    Excellent work!

    New to PRB

I had to play around a lot with my TC Hawken 1:48 to get PRBs to fly. They are dead on now and its a joy to squeeze off. 60 grns of 3F, a lubed felt wad on top of that and then a .015 patch and .490 ball. Without the lubed wad it shot poorly no matter what patch thickness or charge I tried.

    Track of the Wolf

I just received 10 flints from TOW. Every one of them is excellent. Perfectly shaped and thickness is perfect. Thought I would give some very current feedback.

    $18 range box

I appreciate all the comments, guys. So far so good. It's been out shooting twice with me.

    Kibler woodsrunner

Mine started just a tad tight. After 25-30 shots it settled in perfectly and scares me every time it goes boom.

    $18 range box

The best part about using a frilly box like that is outshooting the folks that take exception to it.

    $18 range box

My youngest boy is stopping over tonight to fire his brand spankin' new .54 Woodsrunner. I will let you all know how the box works. I'm sure I will be firing some rounds off as well. It's too hard to watch somebody burn powder and not burn a little yourself :)

    Kibler kits lead time?

If the ready to ship ad reads "no issues", they aren't blems. Just an FYI about that section on their site. Mine was marked blem and to this day I see absolutely nothing wrong with it and I have a highly tuned "wood eye".

    NEW T/C Hawkens!

I'd guess $1200 minimum, if they are made here. $750 if made elsewhere.

    lubing patches

I put a full stack of dry patches in an old pill bottle. Then pour an adequate amount of lube in and close the lid, its seems filling the bottle half way with lube is pretty close to the right amount. Flip it a few times over a few days and all the patches are perfectly lubed. Excess goes to the...

    $18 range box

There is a brass handle on the lid.

    $18 range box

Thanks guys. I shoot in my yard as I live in the "sticks" and get an easy, safe 60 yard shot. My usual way was to set up my bench and chair and then put a piece of cardboard on the ground with my stuff sitting on it. That was a PITA. I left the lid over hang because I think I will cut a few half...

    $18 range box

My bro in law and I added a 4 seasons room to his home. We had a bunch of 1x pine scraps left over. I grabbed a handful and made a range box. I spent about $18 on the hinges, handle and a sash lock. Its "sealed" with bees wax and lemon oil. Nuttin' too fancy. My table saw doesn't have enough...
