Left handed flintlocks on a budget??

As far as i can tell the mfg's do not make a full stock flint lock in a lefty. I do not want a half stock hawken type of rifle but more of a full stock poor boy or lancaster or virginia or even a tennesee style. My price range is under $1200.

Left handed flintlocks on a budget??

I am having a heck of a time finding a new lefty flint lock. The closest i can come is the lancaster by tvm. Is there any other custom shops or even mfg's that make a lefty flintlock in the virginia or lancaster style at a decent price? :bull:

    .54 cal

My .54 gpr likes 90 grns of goex 2fg behind a prb. If your hawken has a faster twist like 1-48 you might have to use a slightly lower powder charge with a round ball to get accuracy out of it.

    shockey's gold?

Exactly what brown bear said, try pyrodex or 777, they will also deteriorate over time but seem to have better consistency. If you can, try to get some real bp, it will last forever as long as you keep it dry.

    First trad mz.....

I bought my gpr from thirdgeneration about 4 months ago and love it. This .54 throws round balls with amazing accuracy at 100 yrds off a rest.(the shooter not so much). I do have to admmit that i did have to do a little work to it though. I had to heat and bend the hammer to get it centered over...

    What range for deer hunting?

this is my first year with a sidelock and i have my .54 gpr shooting prb's and 90 gr of 2fg sighted off a rest dead center at 100 yds, i feel comfortable off a rest at 100 yrds. In the area where i hunt there is alot of open spaces so i will be looking at longer shots but have set my personal...

    Different barrel for GPR

well a brand new barrel from mid south will cost you $220 plus shipping, so as long as the barrel you are looking at is in good condition i would say that is a dang good deal. The gpr comes with 2 barrel twists, the 1/32" twist is for conicals and is on the great plains "hunter". The standard...

    Load help needed

My .54 gpr likes 90 grns of 2fg goex behind a round ball and .018 pillow ticking patches. I might try 3fg goex after i shoot up all my 2fg. If i was you i would just start at 60 grns and work your way up in 5 grain increments to see what load groups the best.

    Your last month of hunting....

For me it would be sitting by an oak tree in the fall in this creek bottom country i have been hunting waiting for that big whitetail. I actually thought about this this past weekend while hunting with my bow. I sat in a oak bottom watching the red sun rise, the leaves turning colors, a...

I know exactly where you are coming from, i just started this summer with a gpr 54, my wife gets pissed when i tell her i need another pound of goex too, but i think she might want a divorce when i buy a 10lb lot over the internet next week since i cant find anymore around here lol, but just...

    Lyman or Thompson

i own the gpr .54 with the 1 in 60 twist barrel. The rifle is a great shooter and looks better and is easier on the wallet than the tcs imo. but i have never shot a tc hawken so i cannot comment on their "shootability". I have heard that TC makes a mighty fine lock but the barrels can be fussy.
