    Removing the shine on a musket

    Try degreasing with alcohol, and wiping with a cloth and white vinegar. Rinse with clear water, and repeat until you get the finish you want.

    Show us the sheath you have made (or are making)

    A sheath for a skinner I made, maple and leather. A sheath I made for a big pigsticker. Moose antler and wenge. Another sheath I made for a skinner I made, Reground Russell skinner. Wooden insert, wrapped in stitched deer rawhide.

    I'm a sucker for tomahawks. I spotted a economy poll head on line, and picked up a haft for it. The head wasn't drifted properly for a tomahawk handle, me and Mr. Dremel corrected that. I blued the head, fitted and finished the haft. I'm debating a wrap, but I don't want to cover up any of the...

    Frequent Long Rifle Barrel Removal?....NO!

    I never remove the barrel for cleaning. After I brown or blue the barrel, I wipe on a thin coat of BLO and never worry.

    Pre ignition

    Never seen it happen, never heard around here of it happening. I wipe between shots, and damp swab my cannon between shots. I'm not a fan of those kind of surprises.

    Follow through

    I was taught to visually ride the front sight during the firing. If you can't tell me where the front sight went two seconds after the boom, there was insufficient follow through. Just my method.
