    Help with my lady woes

Perhaps you could get her to wear a bonnet like they did a couple hundred years ago to protect her hair. I’m just trying to help.

    Help with my lady woes

IMHO, if she likes shooting anything, even if it is not blackpowder then capitalize on that. I met a woman that wasn't into guns but loved archery. Before the day of smart phones with photos, she showed me her little pocket photo album of all sorts of big game she took with her bow. We're...

    Colonel Stoopnagle's Product Labels

All of us have special recipes for our DIY solvents and lubricants for muzzleloading firearms. As with all blackpowder enthusiasts who are bright, young, erudite, scholarly we are not without a sense of humor. Not taken to hubris or vanity, we can be quite jolly company. If you are like me...

    Pedersoli fail!

I picked up a Blue Ridge flintlock last spring in .50 caliber and the barrel is blued. My Pedersoli Frontier rifle in .45 caliber from a about a year ago has a browned barrel on it.

    Pedersoli fail!

I've had that problem before. Take a brass punch that is fairly wide. Without the sights in place, tape the edges of the dovetail down to the point that when you try to re-insert the sight that resistance is felt. The resistance has to be substantial enough that finger pressure alone will not...

    3 f pan primer

I've also discovered the virtues of Vibra-Tite. Where I think Loctite might be too much and if I have to unscrew something on occasion the Vibra-Tite can't be beat. I'm not sure about any muzzle-loading applications but use it on some un-mentionable items. Nevertheless, there are smarter...

    Melting lead

Mine say RCBS. Anyway, I've been thinking about using a Dremel tool to grind off the lettering in the ingot molds. Then cast a bunch of ingots and spray paint them gold after they cool. There is a practical joke waiting somewhere with gold painted lead bars.

I use that all the time. In fact, I have a big batch of bullet/patch lube that's made up of beeswax and vegetable oil. I take about 1/2 tablespoon of the lube and put it in the pot for fluxing.

    Melting lead

I don’t worry about that. I just put them in the pot and whatever doesn’t melt floats to the top and is skimmed out.

    Capper anyone ?

I've purchased the Wilkens pellet pouch from Airguns of Arizona. Great folks to deal with. Airguns of Arizona

    Capper anyone ?

I have one that I use for airgun pellets. If one didn't want to use a capper, they could always carry the percussion caps in one of those pouches.

    Capper anyone ?

Send them an email to look into it. I’ve purchased quite a few cappers from them. They’ve always been great to do business with.

    Dogs and frontloaders?

It's a nice little story but not how I believe we would transition into the afterlife. However, I've seen dogs that take a certain liking to some people and others that don't. I believe that there is something to that. So if my dog doesn't like someone, then I probably wouldn't either.

    Dogs and frontloaders?

YouTube doesn't have the full episode but here's an abbreviated version.
