I have a unmentionable "22" that she loves, I am just working on the rifle. She respects everything I enjoy, and at least feigns interest haha. She is willing to try I am almost certain, I just need to get her slowly going in the right way. She loves the outdoors and this would be a cool progression.

Women love a pink gun.

There were some original painted Indian trade rifles from the French and Indian war period. No documents of pink guns, but red, blue, and various vine patterns. Maybe pink existed. I’d talk one of the builders of these rifles such as Clay Smith or Mike Brooks into building you a Type G Carolina trade gun with a short woman sized length of pull, slender barrel in a very small caliber such as .32, and with a short 30” barrel. The whole gun would probably weigh about 5lbs and would be a joy for her to shoot.

Your up against it buddy! Be careful!

IMHO, if she likes shooting anything, even if it is not blackpowder then capitalize on that.

I met a woman that wasn't into guns but loved archery. Before the day of smart phones with photos, she showed me her little pocket photo album of all sorts of big game she took with her bow. We're talking about everything from white tail deer to moose, bear, elk and Dall sheep!

She was hunting in places and taking game that 99% of us only dream about.

She loved the outdoors and was a hunting fanatic but only with a bow. She didn't hate guns but preferred something else.

What I am trying to say is that if she's into any kind of shooting, whether it is archery, airguns, modern guns or black powder then pursue that with her. You don't have to make muzzleloaders the centerpiece of your relationship.

On the other hand, if she will not entertain anything to do with hunting or shooting then dump her and move on. It will only get worse.

That's my two cents worth.

Thats s great idea! I got her into archery and she LOVES shooting at targets. She is a natural and one day will be better than me. I have never seen someone take to a very hard skillset to master, on the first day. Her form and motions were near perfect out of the box.

My first session is free. All other counseling sessions are $200 per hour; payable in advance:)
