    Lyman Peep sight

Brownell's has these. TOW does as well. Called "dovetail blanks" or "sight slot blanks". But depending on the size of your dovetail, you may have to file it to fit. Given that, you might think of just getting a piece of steel from Lowes, HD, or a hardware store, filing it to fit, and bluing it.

Two cycle motor oil for barrel protection

Why use both? I mean, I can understand using oil as a lubricant and Barricade as a protectant. But -- for something like a barrell, once it's cleaned -- why add the oil and then the protectant rather than just the protectant? Isn't the oil superfluous in that case? Also, isn't it possible for...

Two cycle motor oil for barrel protection

So how do you apply it? I'm reluctant to spray oil down the barrel. Do you use the aerosol? The liquid G96? Spray onto a patch and apply? Also ... Any reason you feel these are better then, say, Montana Extreme or other alternative gun oils?

    What Is That Square?

Or put a tang sight on it at some point. Then removed it when it was sold. Maybe. (Bunch of maybes here. :))

    Smarter than me percussion caps

If you get a #11 nipple that fits in terms of the threading, you can turn/file/sand it down to fit any #10 caps you have. That's how I'm using #10 caps on my Traditions Crockett rifle. For a revolver, I grant you that it's a bit of a pain to do that to six nipples at a time.

    Yup. Dovetail blank: Dovetail blank

Two cycle motor oil for barrel protection

But would any of those additives (whether they break down or not) have any effect on the rust prevention capabilities? I'm thinking (though I haven't investigated it) that the additives are addressed to properties the oil exhibits under stress in engines. ❓ I guess if you really want to use...

    Log Cabin Shop website

Very revealing. I'm sincerely sorry. I really thought you understood more about the current web, its architecture, development, and support than you do. If I'd known where you were coming from and the level of your actual knowledge and experience, I never would have leaned on you the way I...

    Epoxy bedding?

It penetrates. Fundamentally, it's a liquified plastic that is absorbed into the grain. It's amazing how well it absorbs. I've just been using it to repair some portions of treated deck stringers. If you leave it on the surface where you've brushed it (and typically you want a couple of...

Total amateur night. You really understand nothing about web programming or architecture. I'm done with that.

    Log Cabin Shop website

Yeah. Of course they don't maintain their own (physical) server and server environment. The question is whether they maintain their own site and site software. Not that this matters at all for people who just want the site to work. But why are you conflating these things? Just because a...

    Epoxy bedding?

Something that's really excellent for this purpose (unless you're striving for period correctness) is Minwax Wood Hardener.

    Epoxy bedding?

I am reminded of the period when our kids were quite young and there were times in various discussions when we finally just had to say "No more what ifs!!" 😂 😂 Once you start fleshing out different possibilities in what might be different possible worlds, the alternative causal paths can become...

    Log Cabin Shop website

At this point I can't get any of my four browsers to even connect to the login page: "The requested URL was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." I even tried it on my wife's computer and got...

    Log Cabin Shop website

Ah ... Well, that makes perfect sense. As expected for a small company like that, they don't do their own on-site web maintenance and support, but pay someone else to do it. With any luck at some point "the web company" will discover the browser-dependent bug(s) they introduced when they...

    Log Cabin Shop website

That's not the problem. People with different ISPs are having the same problems. I'm seeing the problems myself on four different browsers (to varying degrees), and I don't have these problems at all on any other sites: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge. All configured...

    Epoxy bedding?

I agree that bedding a muzzle loader doesn't get you what it typically does in bedding the action of a contemporary rifle. There's no point to that. But in addition to the "reinforcing" benefit of bedding (or partially bedding) a muzzle loader, it can also be beneficial to bed it (even if only...

    Log Cabin Shop website

What a silly and nutty thing to say. If you know anything about this, you should know that you can't "fix it" without access to the server code. It isn't a browser config problem. The fix needs to be done on the server side because that's where the problem is. Exactly what type of further...
