    Alternate Hawken options

The only effect on accuracy caused by a shorter barrel is the loss of sight radius. The lesser distance between sights magnifies aiming errors. Thanks a LOT for the barrel suggestion. I've been considering having a 1-38 .50 caliber barrel made for one of my T/C Pennsylvania Hunter flintlocks...

    T/C FireStorm Flintlock Stainless .50cal 26"barrel

"21st century period correct" I LOVE it... If you can find a walnut New Englander stock, I THINK it might work for your Firestorm. Swap out the appropriate metal. The sticking point may be the tang. Look up pics to get a better idea. As far as the trigger goes, my one Pennsylvania Hunter had a...

T/C Flintlocks - Old vs New?

The newer locks had UGLY cocks ( hammers)! Change the geometry? OK. Could've made them look better though... Just sayin'. My old locks work just fine. Have 4 and no complaints.

    Flinglock cleaning

Remove and clean/oil the lock. My lock to barrel fit is very good and I put a beeswax snake on the lock. It follows the contour of the pan and squishes out when tightening the lock bolt. Scrape off the excess and no fouling gets to the internals. I remove the barrels as little as possible. No...

Shredded Patches – Suggestions on what to do?

My 2 Pennsylvania Hunter flintlocks... One seems to like .015 patches and a .490 ball with 70 grains of 3f Swiss and a .54 cal o.p. wad. Patches show abrasion by the lands but otherwise are good. I do swab between every shot. I'm not enjoying patched ball in their 1-66 twist... Accuracy and...

Shredded Patches – Suggestions on what to do?

I have the exact problem with 2 T/C Pennsylvania Hunters. A .54 caliber over powder wad does wonders, but patches are still roughly treated. I too rammed a lubed patched ball and pulled it. No damage to the patch. Accuracy is poor and inconsistent. One day it's sort of ok. Next, same load...
