Do you have a muzzleloader with an inexplicable problem?

I wonder if you could have a weak spring on the right lock?

Show N Tell your first MLer rifle

My first was an Investarm Bridger Hawken percussion in 45. I’ve shot it a lot. I began to not like the looks of it so I ordered some parts and reworked it a few months ago. Now I really like the looks of it.

    Removing lacquer from metal.

I would try lacquer thinner or acetone in an inconspicuous area and see how it does.

I’d grind the hammer recess with a Dremel to be at the same angle of the nipple.

    Vent hole location?

I wouldn’t call it ideal. But judging by how dirty and pitted the barrel is on the exterior, I’d hate to see what the bore looks like.

Small pistol primers as percussion caps?

I’ve used small pistol primers often on an 1858 Remington, CVA mountain rifle, investarm hawken and TC Cherokee rifles. I cut the aquarium Tube about 1/4” or so. It works great.

    Went crazy this week

Just lovingly explain that unlike the 100 pair of her shoes, you will use the barrel.

Am I the only one who doesn’t really care for carving on a rifle stock?

I can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into carving and engraving, but I prefer neither on a firearm of any kind.

    WANTED found

A few weeks ago I purchased a pistol belt clip from Deer Creek. It’s for a CVA Mountain Pistol but will work for other pistol types. I think it was $7.
