Jaeger Rifle or Long Rifle ?

The one YOU like best is the only real answer. They both do the job well. A good rifle like these is a very personal choice and even more important than picking a wife.

    Guns of Famous Frontiersmen

Pretty hard to prove as often many frontiersmen in there old age were photo'd with prop guns, as well with any staged photo I guess.

    Sadie CVA 54 Mountain Rifle

The Spanish made some dang good barrels. My dad had the Big Bore 54 years ago and I did some good shooting with it.

    Sadie CVA 54 Mountain Rifle

I don't think any of the "Big Bore" Mountain Rifles came with made in USA barrels, I think they came along a bit later but could be wrong.

    Sadie CVA 54 Mountain Rifle

Nicely done. I bought a CVA Mountain Rifle in .50 a few years ago and this year I'm going to make time to play with it a bit.

Should the powder charge be equivalent to the caliber?

But nobody would mention it because it's not part of the topic.

Recoil reduced I have a CVA Bob Cat that had a very heavy recoil, I put 10 .58 RB in stock with a rag to keep them from moving around. works great now

Is this your hunting rifle or. For general shooting-plinking you can reduce your load as well.

Should the powder charge be equivalent to the caliber?

Starting point for rifles, half that for pistols.

    Rawhide wrap

A alternative to the rawhide might be the dehydrated fruit roll-up. About the same texture and may provide nutrition if lost in the woods.

    What is this percussion revolver?

I too think it is some form of Tranter going by the loading lever or possibly a Belgian copy of. Either way you have a very sweet somewhat rare gun.

    Oxidized Balls.

Probably still is in other nameless countries.

    Oxidized Balls.

I thunk it was done to increase velocity.

    Oxidized Balls.

So, just to be clear, the white stuff is a mold or algae and can shoot spores like darts.
