    Do You Remove Your Barrel?

Only time I remove a barrel is if it needs to be bent straight when sighting in a new one. Like to keep the sights in the middle of the flats. After that, leave it alone.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Got away and spent a pleasant afternoon with my 1795. This one has a pretty good trigger and I managed to connect with the steel plates with regularity after I got my head in the game. Used .662s, .15 patches, a undetermined ratio of ballistal and water, kinda oily, with 70 gr. of 2F made for...

    WANTED Charleville musket

I have a Pedersoli "Corrigege AN IX" that I would be willing to part with.

    accuracy

I like a wet patch thick enough that it doesn't burn through, mostly so I can shoot multiple times with less powder accurately without having to swab the bore. Most of my smoothbores are just as accurate bare ball, but, you've got to put some fire behind that ball to get it to fly straight. I...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Ran a little lead through the melting pot today, back on track with a few .60s again. They go fast when your plinking.

    CLOSED Pedersoli 12 Gauge SxS

I can see it in the safe, looks like the barrels are blued. Bought it off of Track of the Wolf. Quickly realized that I can hardly keep track of one barrel much less two. Oh, and I'm from Texas, better keep an eye on me.

    CLOSED Pedersoli 12 Gauge SxS

I have an extra 12 gauge with a full and mod choke with browned barrels that I am not using. I would have to dig around in the safe to find it. I'm sure its way, way in the back.

    Cap or flintlock

I've gone through the learning curve with a Pedersoli patent breech caplock, with the failures to fire, hard loading with wonderlube patches, and all the other things some manufactures will have you believe that caused me enough grief that almost had me ready to give up on muzzleloading. I have...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Got my first little buck of the season with my customized Western Arms, bored out to .58 caliber by Bobby Hoyt with a 1X66 twist and deep lands and grooves for a patched round ball. The lock panels have have been reshaped and forearm was slimmed down to make it look more Hawkenish. Good times.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Just unboxed a new to me Don Bruton 20 gauge smoothbore. A Bobby Hoyt 47" custom profile barrel and a Jim Kibler lock, that amounts to 6 pounds of wonderful. Can't wait to see how she shoots and make meat. Rut should start getting under full steam by next week down here in South Texas. Really...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Rainy few days in South Texas, got tired of looking at the horrible green color and shiny finish on a Matt Avance .62 that I picked up. He must have used chromium trioxide back in the day. I heard it was a thing a good while back. So, I took it apart and started scraping, It went faster than...

.62 smoothbore as an all around gun?

You can't go wrong with a 20 gauge. This is my first flintier, I have run several cases of 2F thru it and countless round balls and shot. It has put a lot of meat on the table over the last few years. Have bought a few more, much nicer smoothbores and rifles since then, but, I would not feel...
