    Anti Brush Rhetoric.

Crimped vs wire twisted. I have always used a brush, and see no reason to not use a brush. After pushing the brush to the bottom twist to the right and pull it back out. It's not too tough.

    Yep, I'm a sissy.

I cut that evil Cresent plate off and put a limbsaver on. That Hawken with a 400 gr bullet will get your attention.

Conical bullets best suited for Thompson Center shallow grooves 1/48" barrels.

It's funny that you say that. I have seen a pile of bullets that are slip fit shoot very well.

I did with a 45. I paper patched them and sized to fit. That one shot very well. I never tried the 50 but had plans to paper patch the .533? I think it was. A guy bought the gun and the mould before I tested it.

Conical bullets best suited for Thompson Center shallow grooves 1/48" barrels.

The bullet on the left is a 410 gr Hornady GP. I got some insider info about them being discontinued back In 2006 or 2007, I can't remember now. I hoarded over 30 boxes. After getting them I started working on a replacement. In 2007-2008 I developed the paper patched Lee 500S&W bullet. In...

Removing the barrel on a hooked breech rifle for cleaning, yes or no??

I can't confirm that. I can't recall ever seeing any info on that. I've never seen a change shooting out to 300 yards, but 300 yards is nothing compared to 1000. If a person was sure they were seeing problems I would think bedding the rifle would be the way to go.

I was under the impression that the Gibbs target rifle was removable.

    Why Muzzle Down?

I have always stored muzzle down. In 2016 I was Whitetail hunting with idaholewis. My 45 was cleaned and he ran a oil patch down the barrel and leaned it against the wall barrel up, I think it was down stairs. The next morning he fired a couple caps in his basement. I load it up, up stairs and...

Traditional sidelock vs NW legal non-traditional front stuffer

out west our tags are mostly draw. In some instances our hunts can honestly be once in a lifetime. Some like I have drawn is maybe once in 10 years. It is wise for a person to be prepared to shoot long range when venturing out west. In some cases it is impossible to get closer. Being a good...

    Steel targets

I have several. One is soft and I beat it flat and weld it from time to time. I have a Disc that is super hard. It also is slightly rounded. So.far the only damage to it is the center. Then I have a piece of pipe. And a hanger for cardboard for paper targets. The disc is 21" which I believe...

Traditional sidelock vs NW legal non-traditional front stuffer

Let's look at what you said About woods smarts, Okay. What if there isn't woods? In this picture the only thing between me and the elk was 800 yards of ankle high grass. So where do you hide in ankle high grass? Antelope hinting, elk hunting, and muledeer hunting can and often is done in areas...

    Paper Patched Bullets

Some have danced around the truth because they are being kind and don't wish to hurt your feelings. The 1-48 twist is not going to come anywhere close to stabilizing a bullet of that size. I'm sorry if that is the answer that doesn't fit your line of thinking. If you only wish to hit the...

    Anyone make tools?

It looks like his screw and rod are not lined up. I can honestly say I wouldn't use that for any reason in a barrel of mine.
