    Pedersoli flintlock not cocking

Returning would involve shipping, and we all know how hazardous that can be! And expensive!

    I'm afraid you're right!

If it requires service that you can't do, Cabin Creek, the 'lock doctors' will tune it, but that adds cost to something that is brand new! Hope it works out OK!

    Loss In Floods, Fires, etc.

I am indeed aware of and have visited the von Kinebusch (sp.?) Collection! Thanks! If you are aware of the English dealer in ancient arms & armor, Peter Finer, you will know how rare and EXPENSIVE such items are! No wonder there's such a strong market for replica swords, etc. One wonders how...

They'd panic, call the local ATF & law enforcement!! It would be the kind of thing bad guys might do....

    DIY Defarbing and Refinishing

I've stripped and stained a few muzzle loader stocks; the light colored, urethane, replicas that don't look right as "out of the box". Much more authentic looking re-finished.

    Loss In Floods, Fires, etc.

Outside of the human suffering, imagine the valuable guns, currency, coinage, rare furniture, paper records, photos, etc., that have been destroyed over the centuries by fires, floods, warfare, etc. Mind-boggling! Of course human tragedy takes precedence, but when you see how few, say...

    DIY Defarbing and Refinishing

I know what you mean; I'm sure many have used the commercial "Brass Black", but the aging you illustrate is something that only time can perform! :)

    ASM year???

Yeah, just be happy with; "seventy-ish"! :)

    anti-gun USPS

OMG. Who'd of thunk that would happen? Hope this all works out OK. The fear and hysteria around such items is excessive. Your experience will be of help to anyone else who might of though of shipping with the thimbles intact. Thanks.

    Blanks Harvested for Black Powder

I simply don't see anyone wanting them at the shows or meets I go to. Can't mail BP thru e-bay even if I was on that site. I have some old 5-in-1 blanks that are as loud as heck!!

    Blanks Harvested for Black Powder

Thank you! This is most definitely real Black Powder; it was cool to see comments here about the blanks. No date on the boxes, which I kept, but would think 1940's if not before by the type style. (I can't post photos, to my distress!)

    Hopkins & Allen underhammer pistol.

One thing about the under-hammers; even a klutz like me can figure out how to strip and re-assemble!! 🤪

    Repair or replace

Repairs are so very authentic, I'd fix it and leave it!! JMHO

Hatman, is that the Paris City Hall your reg't. is standing in front of? Looks familiar, let us know what site the formation was at! Or, is it Wash., D.C.?

    Hopkins & Allen underhammer pistol.

Yep. I would use the black 'sand paper' with oil to do that with my thumb. Muzzleloaders can be really creative and resourceful!

    Hopkins & Allen underhammer pistol.

I might be getting one of these soon, and really appreciate the tip!

    Hopkins & Allen underhammer pistol.

It's so easy to crown them; I don't think when these were made and offered, that crowning was anything thought of at all.

    Rough barn gun

Yikes, that IS rough! But you seem to be into it, I'm sure you'll work it out fine. Let us see it a few weeks down the road! Basic guns like Barn Guns and SM rifles are cool, being the very basics. :)
