    36 caliber deer hunting

Me either, GSML. Now, starving to death in an apocalypse situation I'd shoot spitballs at 'em if that's all I had.... ETA: Uh-oh, just saw Loyalist Dave's post. Is a spitball too modern? I promise I won't mention them again.

Issues with .36 rifle cleaning jags

Yeah, .307 is good. Those I got from TOW are just too large @ .329

    Traditions Kentucky Rifle Deluxe Version

Agree Cruiser. I think also wood economy. Smaller pieces cheaper/easier, less culling, than the long skinny blanks.

Issues with .36 rifle cleaning jags

First sub-.50 ml. Buying needed possibles. Which jags do you guys use for your .36 rifles? Do you have an optimal diameter you suggest? I bought the TOW .36 brass jags and they measure .329" diameter; a little too tight with the thick common cotton patches. OK with the thin synthetic Hoppe's...

I would like to see estimates on how many of those have been produced. A bazillion? I recently sold my Kentucky to a kid. I'm hanging on to my SDI Shenandoah.

My set trigger was gritty, so I replaced the roll pins with dowel pins, polished everything, and it really smoothed things out.

    Traditions Kentucky Rifle Deluxe Version

Yes, but there are things you can do to tighten it up. But, if you have the option, get the deluxe with the set triggers. I think it also comes with the upgraded lock with the bridle on the tumbler. I may be wrong about that, I know my Shenandoah has the bridle.

The Spanish know how to produce an accurate barrel, that's for sure. They all tend to be lasers. My SDI Shenandoah version, with the one-piece stock and set triggers, is a pretty cool gun, I don't care what anybody says.

Deer aren't hard to kill. Legend is some dude killed one with an ice pick. For prb's I keep it .50 and above for all of reasons already pointed out.

    KIBLER WOODRUNNER TALL SITE

I had to put taller rear on my Woodsrunner. It shot a foot low with the short sight. There would be no front sight left if I had filed it to the needed height.

Anyone know where you can still find these in stock?

P.S. off topic, but I used to travel to your neck of the woods often, and always loved to hit it during the fruit harvest. Oh, man, tree-ripened Ellensburg apples and Naches and Yakima cherries and apricots, de-lish. I usually made myself sick from eating so much fruit LOL.

Anyone know where you can still find these in stock?

I saw some on the shelf recently at a little shop way out in the middle of nowhere, a LONG way from you, for sure : Link to Tucker's Now, whether he'll do mail order or not, I cannot say...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Thanks, Duk. I have a work day tomorrow at my property, and I'll take some time to scout around some more, maybe take a shot if the opportunity arises. 85 miles distant. I don't have confidence, though. It's rugged 78 acre Appalachian terrain, and I haven't scouted over every part of it, but...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Squirrel Rifle Update #4 Tried & True is mostly hardened. Got a time window, so I went to the range today and sighted her in. Front and rear sight centered in the top barrel flat is right on - amazing to me! It shot about an inch low and I filed the front down to get it in the bullseye - didn't...
