My wife was 100s time more picky than I am (& I'm picky), other than green beans she would not touch any other type of bean. She hated grits but was raised in Virginia, I love grits but only with bacon, butter and cheddar cheese. I hate wheat bread but love oat bread, I was raised on Wonder...

I have no problem with what others like, I can even make what has been deemed by others to be super tasty corn bread, I just don't like it myself. I also use flour tortillas but prefer either corn taco shells for tacos or Navajo tacos made with fry bread. My treat is hot french rolls/bread...

I'm the odd man out here. I never learned to like cornbread, pone, johnny cakes, etc. We never had any of that at home when I was growing up even when we lived in southern states.

Many, many moons ago I bought for my first flintlock kit a Pecatonica Fussil kit. One thing I learned was I don't have the patience for those type of "kits"........ Someone else now owns it and is finishing it. :thumb:

I have a Korean War one that I bought many, many moons ago. Used it for both Civ War & WWII reenacting. Heavy wool blanket over the cot, egg crate mattress over that then the bedding. Always stayed nice and warm. Great place to store coolers, etc out of sight.

Vinegar is almost like a miracle "cure" for soooooooo many things. It makes a great (cheap) weed and grass killer also.

It's a Lodge that I've reseasoned twice in a 5 year period, I don't really like Lodge, too rough, not smooth like the older ones. The first few times I cooked with tomato sauce no problem but the last couple of times it removed the seasoning on the lower half of the inside wall. I rarely cook...

I read a while back that flaxseed oil used for seasoning cast iron has a higher tendency to flake then say canola or simply bacon grease. One thing I found is anything tomato cooked in cast iron can remove the seasoning. Re-seasoning a skillet now after having done that.

Granted Baldwin is a despicable human being (I'm being generous) that has his egocentric head so far up his butt that lump in his throat is his nose but the PD completed their investigation and the DA determined Baldwin is not criminally culpable. That said I hope the families of the victims...
