    Frankenpistol build

It is what it is. A touch of your time, talent, and love. Shoot it and enjoy it. Your next build will no doubt be better but, just like your first child, it will always be your favorite. Got a flint lock pistol i am piecing together and one day i shall return to working on it again. DL :ghostly:

    Semper Fi brother.

who all uses peeps on their percussion guns.

That reason is because it is easier to teach some one to shoot using them. Line up the front sight on target, your eye on the rear sight will center itself and you have a good sight picture. Easy for left hand or right hand shooting. This is not modern, been around for centuries.

There is no problem brother, least not from me. I have no weapon that is HC or PC in anyway. I mod my stuff for ME. Peeps work good for targets. Ghost sights work good for hunting, but at my age I prefer scopes for hunting. To me just more ethical. DL

"If you want peeps.....buy an in-line....and hitch yah wagon to that crowd...lol..." guote I have both and have peeps on both. Whatever it takes to shoot. DL

    Tuning Open Top Replicas

Guys i read responses about driving in the wedge, please do not drive the wedge in with a hammer. All you are doing is damaging the wedge and slot. Thumb pressure and maybe a light tap. If it loosens during your shooting session then press back in with thumb. Repeated driving in and driving out...

    Tuning Open Top Replicas

There are several articles about tuning the Pietta open tops and the Uberti open tops by Larsen E Pettifogger. Google him and his articles. He is with the SASS #32933L and when i have a problem with my Colt replicas i refer back to his articles that i have downloaded. DL:dunno:

Beautiful bird. The guys i hunt with, we're all over 50 some of us pushing 70, decided not to gather for our spring hunt this year. Damn virus. Hopefully it wont spoil the fall deer and turkey hunt. I miss sitting in the predawn and that first gobble sending chills up my spine. Man what a rush. DL

    Rollin' My Own.......

I agree. I use only curling paper from Sally's and have no conplaints. Quick , easy , no fuss , and they fire every time. DL

Cards instead of wads for revolvers

Woodnbow My brother hang in there. Fight this thing and dont let it win. Once before i posted my lube cookie method of 45/45/10 beeswax, lamb tallow, and olive oil. Take a standard paper towel and fold in half. Soak the towel in the melted lube solution and let some drain off, then layout on...

I agree there Woodnbow, back in basic we took the peep sights and shot 500 to a 1000 yds with our M14's. Some of us even fired Expert with them. Now 50 years later i use them so i can see and shoot 50 to 100 yds with my front stuffers. Getting old sucks but it is inevidable. Semper Fi DL
