The snowshoes worked fine for the primitive biathlon. The trails were indeed well groomed, and it was great exercise. Itw as only 6 degrees on the starting line, but over 100 degrees at the finish. Don't know why I wore such heavy clothing.
Thank you! Found a nice pair of LL Bean bear paws with bindings the original owner wanted to be rid of. The front of these snow shoes "curl" up, so I'm hoping to spend more time walking than tripping. I suppose I'll find out if it snows

Thank you very much Eddie. Your father was a great builder. I've seen many of his rifles on the firing line. I have an older friend from New York who competed with a rifle he purchased from your father more than half a century ago. The rifle was indeed very accurate and it performed very reliably.

It's a 1-66" twist. My wife shoots a very similar rifle with a .45 caliber Rice barrel. Pictured below is one of her sighters. (She always shoots sighters before she gets serious about accuracy.)
