I get the steel, grind to shape, heat treat and install in handle and bolster. They are sized for a possible bag carry. Some are maple, walnut, cherry, hickory or ash. They are really fun to make.

I have had this nice box since the 1980s. I just kept a few items in it which today have not value or interest any more. The box is beautifully made of wood, which, unfortunately I do not know the variety. The pictures speak for themselves as to the quality of work. I will ship for $50...

Back up north for summer and able to make more of these starters. This one is cherry with 3/8” brass rod, threaded to 10-32. I can also do walnut, ash, hickory, maple 1/4”, 3/8” 1/2” brass rods, threaded 8-32 or 10-32. Still $18.50 shipped. Don’t do CC, however PP, MO, check or cash will work...

The plastic, heat molded by a heat gun, holds the soft pine wood on the vice. The pine pieces can be popped on and off easily. .

My 4” flea market, $20 vice with soft pine and heat gun molded plexiglass and vinyl siding jaws. Works fine.

Are these shots off a bench rest or off hand? I agree with TreeMan-terrible group.
