    2021 NMLRA National Pistol Championship

Plan on attending for the first time this year. I got interested in doing some pistol target shooting this past spring so after combing through the info on this forum I bought a DP Le Page .44 cal flintlock. I liked it so much I have a Le Page .36 cal percussion on the way. I was hoping to get a...

TC New Englander, .54 caliber with a 12 gauge extra barrel. Still have it. Shot a lot of deer. Has been my primary grouse gun for 20+ years.

    TC New Englander

My first muzzleloader was a TC New Englander in .54 cal and a 12 gauge choked barrel back in the early 1990's. Shot a bunch of deer with it and it has been my grouse gun all this time. It's one gun I won't part with.

Skychief, I too have used my French Fusil Smoothbore exclusively, getting ready for grouse and deer season. Where do I find "Bobs Blackpowder Notebook"? I did a search but it didn't turn up. Thanks.

Flintlock guns with no vent liners

Feltwad, I have a Smoothbore Fusil that had slow ignition plus frequent pan flashes in spite of picking. I drilled out the touch hole to 5/64 and it helped but still slow. I made up a new touch hole liner with a hex screw like you described and what a difference. Out of 40 shots today very fast...

Flintlock guns with no vent liners

Feltwad, my first post here. When you file the Allen screw back from the point to 1/16" do you mean the length of the screw is only 1/16" when you screw it into the vent hole?

    JUNE Contest: Splitting Hare’s

Target's in the mail. I spend most of my time shooting my .62 Fusil Smoothbore and decided to shoot it exclusively up through next hunting season. So.. That's what I shot the rabbit ears with. Not a bad group but only one score.

Got a 12 Gauge TC NE

My .54 TC New Englander was my first ML back in the early '90's. I bought a 12 ga choked barrel at the same time. Stocked in walnut. Shot bunch of deer with it in the past and it's still my grouse gun to this day. It's the one gun I will never part with.

    Golf with roundballs!

Thanks Adui. I've been reading the forum for quite some time now. Our stop st Usery Mtn recreation area was unplanned so I didn't have a gun or bow with me. Next time I will. Thanks for the invite into the shoots.
