Got out today and shot. Hit right where I was aiming, need to aim better! It was a little cool out, but good day to shoot.

25gr fffg.
.350 roundball.
.015 pillow ticking cut at muzzle.
Mink oil lube.
.36 caliber LH flintlock, 44" barrel.

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

Is it possible to shoot this with a single shot pistol or five shots revolver? Shooting at 25 yards (23 m) with a rifle is forbidden for us : at the range only 50 m (55 yards) and more for rifles, the 25 m is only for handguns...

Erwan, the rules are for rifle and pistol, so your good to go with the pistol's.
just don't embarrass us by out shooting us rifle shooters!

@jackpine54 How's your accuracy with that sized load? My 36 seems to love 35 grains and shoots great so I've never tried one that low.

Here we go, good to be shooting again after a month or more. Got to the range at sunup and got it done. That red dot sure draws your eye, have to be real steady.

@jackpine54 How's your accuracy with that sized load? My 36 seems to love 35 grains and shoots great so I've never tried one that low.

On a good day, off a rest I can get .75" groups at 35 yards. That's about as far as I can see a small target. My rifle shines at 25 grains and 40 grains, but 25 is cheaper and enough for squirrels and rabbits.

That's interesting. I'll have to do some experiments. All things considered, I love my 36 for shooting and hunting.

.36 is sure fun to shoot. I let my daughter shoot mine with 15 grains, like a 22 short.

I shot my target today and I'm definitely in last place. I'd like to blame it on 15 degree temps but the truth is that I'd probably shoot as poorly if it was in the 70s. Oh well, here she be!
