    Making a revolver from parts

So far I've come up with 348.71 for all parts except one of most important: the frame. they do not sell the frame. I guess it is just me thinking out loud and thinking out of the box. Oh well. I'll just keep my eyes open and keep searching. I am 72 and got 20 years ahead of me, if I take...

    Making a revolver from parts

I have been waiting for a Spiller & Burr revolver for a long time. I went to Taylor arms and like everybody, no revolver. But, I noticed that they have all the parts to the revolver. Has anyone built a revolver from getting parts, or heard of it, or recommend it? I sent an email to Taylor...

Need suggestions on which revolvers to buy

Don't forget an important use of a Walker at home: EXERCISE. I hold mine for 60 seconds out in front and then 60 seconds out to the side. Also you can lift it from your hip to the front or to the side. i find it helps keep my aim steady and also helps in holding a rifle/musket steady...

    1858 Pietta Army Cylinder Problem

I've had the same issue with nipples and thinking that each space had it's own quirks, I tried the nipple in a different spot. If that didn't work, I tried another open spot. I got the trouble nipple into one of the other spots and all is well. Have you tried that? Plus plenty of anti-sieze...

How do you clean your rifled barrel?

There was a thread about cleaning where one person used a tube with a magnet at one end and the other end fits into a water/dawn filled gallon milk container. So I bought it. (some place in California, I think) I take the nipple off and attach the magnet end to the hole. Then take a patch...

    Independence TV show

Just reran the first episode: Walker's great great grandmother was about to shoot the bad guy who shot her husband and the camera took a shot of the revolver. They blurred the barrel just like TV blurs certain parts of the body. My wife could almost make out 'Pietta' on the barrel. Amazing...

Not sure what this barrel/tang is?

Here's the rifle . Got it for 279. It can use 10 or 11 caps. Could the nipple have been changed from a larger cap?

Not sure what this barrel/tang is?

I got this long arm labelled Kentucky from a small gun shop that caters to mostly unmentionables. I started to clean the bore and noticed something I haven't seen before: a hole on one side that leads to the nipple area. I also cleaned up the barrel and finally found a date stamp of AC which...

    Independence TV show

I was watching the tube yesterday evening and the promos for "independence" came on. It's a show about a town called "Independence". One shot came up and lo and behold: a cap&ball revolver. It happened fast and all I could see was that the nipples had no caps. Anyone see this show or know...

    Date stamp on Pedersoli barrels

I am looking at a pedersoli pennsylvania flintlock to find date mark. On the barrel I see the stamps that are required for Italian arms. Then I see '20' in a square. Most of my arms have the date code that we are familiar with through that chart that's made it's way through most forums. I...

I got these for the 1858 Texas Remington .44C by Pietta.. It was one of the first guns I got and didn't realize that my wife wouldn't mind if I bought more. I thought I was stuck with one. I guess I'll keep her for another 46 years.

    real or not?

There does not seem to be a viable pan or flash hole to set it off. It seems to be a wall hanger.
