I have been waiting for a Spiller & Burr revolver for a long time. I went to Taylor arms and like everybody, no revolver. But, I noticed that they have all the parts to the revolver. Has anyone built a revolver from getting parts, or heard of it, or recommend it? I sent an email to Taylor asking their opinion and waiting for a reply. Don't know if it's a good idea? I am not an expert but feel I can do it if I take my time. thanks to you all and Happy Thanksgiving.

Tony, I believe it is very possible to make a Spiller & Burr from parts - but it would be the most expensive pistol around!
Keep your eyes and ears open, heck, you can even advertise for one. It would be even more dear to you than you think.
In the end, just be prepared to spend a lot of Yankee $$$ for a parts build. Does give you the possibility of well-polished innards.

I'm glad I got mine years ago. But I gave it to my oldest Son who prefers Cival War era weapons. He sent to Lodgewood and had them "fix" it. Turned out nice.

So far I've come up with 348.71 for all parts except one of most important: the frame. they do not sell the frame. I guess it is just me thinking out loud and thinking out of the box. Oh well. I'll just keep my eyes open and keep searching. I am 72 and got 20 years ahead of me, if I take after my father who is 96 and smokes a pipe all day, sleeps 10 hours a day, and has an occasional gin and tonic.

After admiring mine, a friend called DGW to place a different order, and asked about Spiller and Burr availability, he was told that they have more on order that are due sometime in the first half next year. You might also try placing a wanted ad in the classified section here, as they do show up for sale occasionally.

Yes I've built three revolvers and 4 rifles along with 3 double barrel Shotguns. It's a blast and you'll find yourself more attached to these guns than the ones you bye

Have you tried ebay? Believe it or not I found 1851 navy parts there. I just got a pietta steel frame and a hand with spring and the hammer to convert the 1970 ish Italian brass frame. A little TLC and all is well.
