    Pedersoli flint sxs shotgun

I've fired patched round ball out of my 12 ga Pedersoli SxS. It worked about as well as it did in any of my other smoothbores, just make sure you're not firing it out of the choked barrel.

    Do you shoot old "Originals"?

Here's my Springfield 1816 made in 1831 shooting buck and ball.

Cool Slow Motion Smith Carbine Shooting

I wanted to share this cool slow motion video my buddy took of me shooting my original Smith Carbine. I thought it was interesting that you can see a smoke trail from the bullet going down range. I also never get tired of hearing lead hit steel.

What diameter does this cast at with pure lead? Is it actually .575 or smaller than that?

Are the slow twists of the Springfield and Enfield rifle musket not suitable for minié balls?

If yours has three rifling grooves like I believe it does then just measuring it with your calipers will not work and you'll be measuring the groove depth on one side and the land depth on the other side. You should get some pin gauges like was recommended earlier or borrow some from someone...

    SMR Photos Please

Here's mine. It was the fancy maple with Kibler's aqua Fortis and some tried and true brand boiled linseed oil. I'm no professional, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Finding the proper size Smith Carbine bullet?

I recently picked up a very nice original Smith Carbine with a bore that looks almost new (it wasn't relined). The problem is, I haven't been able to work up a charge that shoots well with my gun and bullet combo. I'm using Eras Gone bullets as cast at about .518" from pure soft lead and the...

CLOSED WTB Smith Carbine for N-SSA Competition

Hello. I'm new to the N-SSA and am looking for a Smith carbine to use in competition shooting. Either original or reproduction as long as it's in shootable condition, but originals are preferred. I'll also consider other CW carbines as long as they are N-SSA approved. Thanks

    My oldest smoothbore Warhorse

That is a great looking M1816 and even in original flintlock configuration. Certainly a cool piece of history. When can we expect videos of buck and ball being fired? Here's mine from 1831 that was converted to percussion with a little buck and ball.

Tn Bear pistol, this is going to be a long project.
